Yooka Laylee to be available in digital and physical formats!
With everyone safely back in their office chairs, development progresses unhindered on Yooka-Laylee. As we get closer to launch and our plans take final form, we’re finally able to clarify many of your most burning inquiries and requests. One such query we’re delighted to tackle today is the ever-booming call for a boxed version of Yooka-Laylee. Do we have plans for a boxed release? Today we can confirm that the answer is, yes!
We’re delighted to be able to offer Yooka-Laylee in both digital and boxed flavours in time for the game’s launch in Q1 2017. As we speak, our business badgers are busily burrowing away on an initiative that will allow Kickstarter backers to upgrade their digital pledge to a physical version, if they choose to do so. We’re not ready to share the exact details just yet, but very soon you should be able to stick your head in the badger hole and look for yourself.

Yooka-Laylee gets new trailer; game delayed until Q1 2017!
After months of toil and tease, we’re as chuffed as chips to finally release the Yooka-Laylee E3 2016 trailer into the wild!
As well as revealing the first gameplay in over a year, this video also confirms that, after long consideration and knowing through dialogue with our fans that they value quality and polish above all, we’ve made the difficult decision to lock the release of Yooka-Laylee to Q1 2017.
While we felt confident we could ship the game in October as originally projected in our Kickstarter, the Playtonic team has decided that it would prefer to add a few extra months’ polish to the game schedule.

Playtonic’s Kickstarter project, Yooka-Laylee, punch through most stretch goals within 14 hours!
Yooka-Laylee is an all-new 3D platformer from the creative talent behind the Banjo-Kazooie and Donkey Kong Country games. We’ve come together to form Playtonic Games and create a spiritual successor to our most cherished work from the past!
Playtonic Games launched their Kickstarter not even 24 hours ago and have already received 886,000 pounds in pledges from 24,540 people. All stretch goals have been hit except one, which is day one launch for the console edition of the game. I have a feeling the final stretch goal will be achieved within the next few hours based on how fast pledges keep coming in.
