New content will regularly be added, with many new levels, heroes and villains, and upgrades planned.

Wriggle your way through mind-bending mazes in groovy puzzler Worm Jazz!

Oslo, Norway – July 30th, 2020 – Inconspicuous Creations is proud to reveal that its jive puzzler about a boogie-woogie worm wriggling its way through a series of mazes, Worm Jazz, is coming to the eShop for Nintendo Switch and Steam this summer. Can you dig it?

Worm Jazz is a unique, wriggly puzzle game that combines the elongating body mechanic of Snake with the explosion-heavy demolition of Bomberman. You take control of Mr. Mark, an earthworm with a particular fondness for smooth jazz and dapper headwear. Writhe your way through the many intricate, mind-bending mazes filled with mines, wormholes, and powerups! Shrink when you blow yourself up and expand when you scarf down some chow. Are you able to gobble up all the food on each stage and reach the highly coveted golden apple?

The game might appear simple at first glance, but you are quickly presented with some painfully perplexing puzzles. Fear not, as Worm Jazz aims to offer a challenge for every type of player. While puzzle aficionados and completionists will want to gobble up 100% of the food on each stage, casual players can easily unlock and progress through each of the game’s 50+ hand-crafted stages without much difficulty. The open-ended overworld offers branching routes, so you can choose which challenges to tackle first. As you venture through the world, new game elements such as wormholes and boulders are introduced along with new environments. Worm Jazz can be played at your own pace. There are no timers and every move can be undone.

This laid back atmosphere is complemented by a swank soundtrack composed by jazz maestro Oliver Getz, who painstakingly put together loops of calming, upbeat tunes to chill out to. Worm Jazz can at times be a devious head scratcher for completionists, so the snazzy soundtrack offers a welcoming vibe in this labyrinth of brain busters.

The initial prototype for Worm Jazz was created for the NM i Gameplay 2020 game jam, where it took home the grand prize. “It’s certainly not a coincidence that the game was conceived at a game jam. In many ways, Worm Jazz feels a lot like a jam session,” said Inconspicuous Creations founder and sole developer Yu He. “I think it’s important that the game is instantly familiar, but at the same time be open to new elements that mix things up.” He is hopeful that this is just the beginning and that the game will have a long tail ahead of it.

Launching on the eShop for Nintendo Switch this summer Worm Jazz will be available in English, French, Italian, German, Spanish, Brazilian Portuguese, Russian, Polish, Arabic, Simplified Chinese, Japanese and Korean.

Taking place immediately before the events of the show’s very first season, players will join the Shelby family’s criminal organization as they discover a sinister plot to put Tommy out of business.

Players must plan and enact strategies by taking direct control of key members of the Shelby family simultaneously over the same timeline, moving characters into position at exactly the right moment in order to navigate challenging scenarios.

To celebrate the announcement, developer FuturLab has produced a brand new trailer featuring the vocal talents of Cillian Murphy, who plays the show’s lead, Tommy Shelby. You can check out that trailer here – https://youtu.be/PQLvM8IwBkA

According to James Marsden, Game Director at FuturLab, the game is a creative interpretation of the world the TV show has created.

In Peaky Blinders: Mastermind, players will be able to freely set and rewind each character’s path in order to tune all of their actions for perfect coordination, tactically utilising characters and stealth to solve increasingly complex puzzles. It’s a bold take on the series that suitably impressed the show’s distributor Endemol Shine.

Anil Mistry, Director of Gaming & ECommerce, ESG said “We are thrilled to be partnering with Curve and FuturLab in making the first official Peaky Blinders game. Futurlab has faithfully re-created the Peaky Blinders’ universe and having Cillian provide the voiceover adds a real sense of authenticity to this game. Hopefully, fans of the show and gamers alike will be excited to get their thinking caps on and enjoy this compelling puzzle adventure like no other.”

In Peaky Blinders: Mastermind players will:

  • Witness the rise of Tommy Shelby as the true leader of the Peaky Blinders in early 20th century Birmingham
  • Utilise Tommy’s prowess for planning to set up complex scenarios
  • Control Tommy, Arthur, Polly and more on the ground as they pull off mission after mission

Caryn Mandabach Productions’ Jamie Glazebrook, executive producer of all five series of Peaky Blinders, who was involved in reviewing the creative for the game, said “The trailer dropped in my inbox, and I watched it five times in a row. It blew me away. And it’s Peaky Blinders through and through. I can’t wait for players to experience this incredible game“.

Gerrrms everywhere! The microbial multiplayer party brawler is out now!

Poland – July 23rd, 2020 – Bugbomb Games’ single-celled party brawler, Gerrrms, is now available on Nintendo Switch via the eShop for £8.99 / €9.99 / $9.99. Become the germicide master as you engage in microscopic brawls of epic proportions!

Gerrrms is a multiplayer party brawler where players take control of tiny germs as they partake in a big ole scrap for dominance within the human body. Choose from 12 quirky, germy candidates and start swinging from hooks inside a corporeal arena to move around as you engage in microbial warfare, competing in seven gutsy game modes, either in single-player or local multiplayer up to 4 players. With this two-button control scheme and straightforward gameplay mechanics, Gerrrms is the perfect game to jump into with friends regardless of their skill level.

Stand your ground against rival germs performing sick single-celled combat manoeuvres. You’ll be over-prescribed with power-ups: dropping dirty mines, packing punches,  launching microscopic missiles, getting gooey to slow your opponents down, exploding in size pushing your rivals into surrounding hazards, making lightning-fast dashes or tactically using a pseudopod to transplant items with someone else – be it a flag or a bomb.

There are seven game modes on offer: Deathmatch – Swing your germ around and eliminate your foes by bouncing them onto spikes surrounding the arena. Swing for the win to be the last germ standing! Capture the Flag – With only one flag, four germs and countless obstacles, be sure to hold on for the win. Hot Potato – Bombs 101: don’t be holding it when the timer runs out… Makes a good gift for fellow germs though. Synapse Snatch – The goal is simple: grab the ball and bring it to your coloured corner. Like typical cell behaviour, there’ll be copies – stop the others from doing the same! Gobble – A germ’s gotta eat! Make sure you’re first to the feast when food spawns around the arena. Antibody – Avoid ‘Barney the Antibody’ at all costs. He’s big, mean and out to get you so keep him busy by encouraging your opponents to pay him a visit instead.

Gerrrms has been highly anticipated since its second place finish at the Big Indie Pitch at White Nights Amsterdam 2020, offering an infectious experience for all as they battle to become the germicide master!

“We’re so happy to finally bring Gerrrms to Nintendo Switch. This is the best and safest way to prescribe pain to your friends; it’s fun game modes, cute characters and frantic gameplay will be sure to keep the doctor at bay.” said Robert Kujawa, co-founder for Bugbomb Games. “Get ready for the biggest smallest battle of your life!”

In addition to its western launch, Gerrrms will be published in Japan, China and South Korea later this year.

Street Fighter Dev’s Fantasy Strike Now Free to Play With New Content!

EMERYVILLE, Calif. – July 21, 2020 – Fantasy Strike, the fighting game from Super Street Fighter II Turbo HD Remix lead designer David Sirlin, is now free-to-play on Nintendo Switch, PlayStation 4 and Steam for Windows PC, Mac, and Linux. Alongside this price change, an update enters the ring today that includes two new characters, additional cosmetic items and animations for the entire roster, and a new optional set of subscription features.

A first for free-to-play fighting games, Fantasy Strike now allows players to play ALL characters for free online immediately with no grind-to-unlock. This includes the two new characters, Sirus Quince and General Onimaru, who each add new mechanics to the game. Quince deploys illusions to confuse his opponents and can make these illusions “real” for a limited time by landing his super. Meanwhile, Onimaru uses deliberate, powerful sword strikes that can become unblockable in the right situations.

All Fantasy Strike players can play online in casual and ranked modes and watch the action in spectator mode. Practice mode, solo matches vs. AI opponents, and the daily challenges are also all available for free. Those looking for more can find it in the Core Pack, which provides access to local Versus mode, online matches against friends, Boss Rush mode, Survival mode, and an Arcade mode with beautifully-illustrated narrative sequences. Those looking for a lot more can buy the Collector’s Pack, featuring everything in the Core Pack plus a ton of cosmetics, an exclusive “Party Time” KO effect, and one year of the new Fantasy+ subscription.

Fantasy+ is a new optional subscription service that doubles XP gains, grants access to special Master Costumes for each character who reaches experience level 20, and introduces an extensive new Replay Theater feature. With this, players can rewatch their own matches, search for replays containing specific characters and skill levels, and view an endless stream of replays in the new Ranked TV and Friend TV channels. Players can also adjust the playback speed of replays, scrub through videos, and even frame step for deep analysis.

“We worked tirelessly to find a way to maintain the competitive integrity of Fantasy Strike that our existing players love while opening it up to an even broader audience,” said David Sirlin, game director, Fantasy Strike. “We believe this free-to-play update continues our mission of crafting a fighting game that removes the barrier to being a contender, while also providing excellent value for those who want additional features and to support our work.”

Fantasy Strike provides a friendly meeting ground for newcomers and veterans to learn and enjoy hardcore fighting games. Designed to teach and demystify, Fantasy Strike shows players its systems clearly with in-depth video tutorials and innovative frame advantage visual effects. These helpful features are married with other amenities like one-click friend challenges and spectating, built-on-the-fly tournaments, cross-platform play support between all systems, latency-combating GGPO technology, and more.

The free-to-play update featuring new characters and cosmetic items is now available on Nintendo Switch, PlayStation 4, and Steam for Windows PC, Mac, and Linux. Previous owners across all systems automatically receive access to the Founder’s Pack, which includes everything in the Core Pack plus 60 costume color sets (over $100 value if bought separately). The Core Pack is priced at $19.99, while the Collector’s Pack is available for $99.99. A Fantasy+ subscription can be purchased in 1-month, 6-month, and 12-month increments in-game with gems (approximate value of $4.99, $24.99, and $39.99, respectively).
