Solo: Islands of the Heart Pulls into the Dock on Consoles!

Thursday 1st August, 2019 – Manchester, England: Team Gotham and Merge Games are delighted to announce that Solo: Islands of the Heart, the colourful and thought-provoking puzzle experience, is now available on Nintendo Switch, PlayStation 4 and Xbox One!

Solo is a game about love. About love as fuel, the force that drives us.

It is a universal feeling, but each of us experiences it in a different way. Individually, it holds different meanings depending on a variety of factors such as culture, gender, sexuality or traumas. That’s why Solo explores this theme in an introspective way, to have the players identify and reflect on their own experiences.

Solo is a contemplative puzzler set on a gorgeous and surreal archipelago. Reflect on your loving relationships by exploring contemplative, dream-like islands.

  • Reflect on love’s place in your life with a personal and introspective branching narrative.
  • Combine blocks with different properties offering multiple solutions for most puzzles.
  • Contemplate and explore a living world: take photos of the charming, colourful islands amidst tranquil tunes or play the guitar for cute creatures.

Nature and contemplation are also a huge part of Solo – you could feed the animals or just sit on a bench and take the time to think. After all, it’s up to you – Solo provides you with the opportunity to explore at your own pace.

The world is divided into archipelagos, and each archipelago is formed by small islands. Each island represents a unique puzzle the sailor will have to solve before getting to the Sleeping Totems and awakening them to answer a question about love and relationships. Using boxes, each with different properties and behaviours, the sailors can build their own paths to the Sleeping Totems on each island.

However, as is the case with love, most puzzles offer no unique solution.

Solo: Islands of the Heart released on Nintendo Switch, PlayStation 4 and Xbox One. The PlayStation 4 version released on the 30th July, the Xbox One version released on the 31st July, and the Nintendo Switch version on the 1st August. The game is priced at £14.99/ $19.99/ €19.99 and is also still available on PC via Steam.

Jamestown+ Showers Colonial Mars with Bullets on Nintendo Switch in Q4 2019!

PHILADELPHIA — Aug. 1. 2019 — Jamestown+, the beloved top-down 4-player retro shooter set on British Colonial Mars from Final Form Games, will be available on Nintendo Switch™ and PC via Steam Q4 2019. All updates and improvements will also come as a free update to the PlayStation®4 version.

Sir Walter Raleigh has been sentenced to death in the Tower of London. In hopes of securing absolution for his “crimes” by solving the mystery of the Lost Colony of Roanoke, Raleigh flees to 17th-century British Colonial Mars. Board his Conveyance, a rocket-sled equipped with dreadful munitions, and set course for Britain’s well-known Martian colony — Jamestown. Guide Sir Raleigh on his journey to take down the deranged, power-hungry Conquistador and his armies of deadly robots and bizarre Martian warriors – and help him learn to fight for a cause bigger than himself.

Journey across Mars and its moons, Phobos and Deimos, alongside up to three friends (via couch co-op) in classic shoot ‘em up battles. Jamestown+ was carefully crafted to be accessible to anyone, with a wide variety of difficulties meticulously designed to offer engaging challenges for players of all skill levels, not just die-hard shoot ‘em up fans.

Players only need three buttons: Fire for basic attacks, Special for powerful weapons, and Vaunt for a bullet-eating, score-amplifying shield. Enemies drop gold when defeated that charge the Vaunt meter. Learn to take advantage of the shield and send your team’s score soaring into ever-greater heights.

Coordinate attacks by choosing from 8 ships with powerful weapons, ranging from the simple, yet powerful Beam to the powerful homing missile fusillades of Treason. Tinker with three additional Armada ships to create one of 36 customizations to fend off the Martian hordes however you see fit. Unlock these ships with gold plundered from the Conquistador’s army.

Bullets and enemies are easy to see and defend against thanks to beautifully hand-crafted retro artwork, making Jamestown+’s bullet hell action more like a bullet heaven. There’s something for everyone, including 20 unlockable challenge levels, 5 difficulties, and an emotionally-stirring orchestral score that perfectly complements the Colonists’ plight.

“Jamestown is and was a heartfelt labor of love, and our vision was always that of friends or family playing together in the same room”, said Tim Ambrogi co-founder of Final Form Games. “Now PC, Switch, and PlayStation 4 players will all have the chance to experience Jamestown the way we originally intended.”

Jamestown+ comes to Nintendo Switch and PC via Steam Q4 2019. The game will be available for pre-order on the Nintendo Switch eShop for $17.99. The PlayStation 4 version will receive the same updates when the Switch and PC versions launch.

Wordsweeper by POWGI coming to
Nintendo Switch!

Staffordshire, UK – Lightwood Games is thrilled to announce the release of their latest word game, Wordsweeper by POWGI.

A free demo for Nintendo Switch is available on the Nintendo eShop from today, ahead of the full release on August 8th. The game will also be released on the PlayStation Store for PS4 and PS Vita on Tuesday, August 6th.

Wordsweeper is a crossword puzzle solved using logic and deduction. As the name suggests, it is inspired by the classic puzzle “minesweeper” but this new word puzzle is unique to POWGI.

Instead of defining words, the clues indicate a set of letters that must be placed in adjacent squares and the player must work out which letter goes where. Logic and reasoning combined with a knowledge of English vocabulary will allow them to deduce the solution.

Designed as a casual puzzler, intended to get your brain ticking in moments between more intense gaming sessions, Wordsweeper by POWGI follows Lightwood’s usual no-fluff approach to puzzle games. It’s optimised to launch quickly to get you straight to the content and will give you pointers if you get stuck.

Cross-buy is included for PlayStation, so players can download the game on PS4 and Vita with one purchase. Players who complete the game will be rewarded with a platinum trophy.

Mutant Year Zero’s First Expansion, Seed of Evil, Is Out on Nintendo Switch!

OSLO, Norway – July 31st, 2019 – Publisher Funcom and developer The Bearded Ladies are thrilled to announce that the expansion for the award-winning game Mutant Year Zero: Road to Eden has been released on PC, PlayStation 4 (retail, digital to follow soon), Xbox One, and Nintendo Switch. This marks the first time Mutant Year Zero: Road to Eden is available on Nintendo Switch.

The turn-based tactical adventure game received critical acclaim for its gameplay, artwork and captivating characters, when it was released in December 2018. Set in post-apocalyptic Sweden, the player controls a group of mutants searching through the ruins of civilization for salvation or simply something to eat. Using a mixture of stealth and combat strategy, while evolving your characters through a series of interesting mutations, is paramount to overcoming the evil that is threatening to eradicate what is left of decent society.

The expansion, Seed of Evil, picks up where the original story left off, and introduces a new threat for the players to overcome, as powerful and ominous roots have emerged and seem to be taking control over peoples’ minds. Fortunately, our team of friendly mutants will be reinforced by the introduction of a new playable character. Big Khan is a badass, fire breathing moose, skilled at landing critical hits. He comes with several unique mutations and offers new and interesting interactions with Dux, Bormin and the other familiar faces.

“Mutant Year Zero is a gem,” says Funcom Chief Product Officer Lawrence Poe. “It has been a privilege to work with our friends at The Bearded Ladies on this project. They have poured all their passion, creativity and humor into this game, and the result is truly special.”

Haraldur Thormundsson, CEO and self-proclaimed Circus Director at The Bearded Ladies, echoes Poe’s sentiment. “The feedback we got from players after we released the original game was overwhelming, which makes us all the more pleased to offer up Seed of Evil, the continuation of the Mutant year Zero story. We have worked very hard on this and I feel confident that everyone who enjoyed the original game, will enjoy the expansion as well.”

Seed of Evil is available on Steam for $ 14.99 (pricing may differ across territories). A Digital Deluxe Edition, consisting of both the original game and the expansion, is available for $ 44.99.

The Deluxe Edition and the expansion are also available for digital purchase on Xbox One, with PlayStation 4 digital purchase to follow very soon.

The Deluxe Edition is now available on Nintendo Switch, making this the first release of Mutant Year Zero on that platform (the base game and the expansion cannot be purchased separately on this platform). A launch day patch was put out for the Switch version within hours after launch, resulting in significantly improved graphics and performance.

In addition to the digital release, Mutant Year Zero is now also available in retail for the first time for Xbox One, PlayStation 4, and Nintendo Switch. This version is the Deluxe Edition of the game which contains both the base game and the expansion.
