Immortal Redneck Resurrects May 10th on Nintendo Switch!

MADRID, SPAIN – April 17, 2018 – Immortal Redneck, the Egyptian-themed first-person shooter with roguelike elements from developer Crema, will be available on Nintendo Switch on May 10, 2018.

When the titular Redneck crashes his dune buggy in Egypt, he awakens as a mummy with guns in his hands and questions on his mind. By using classic FPS techniques like circle-strafing and bunny-hopping he will shoot his way through mythological monsters in the pyramids and discover who the heck wrapped him up.

Player will run-and-gun through three procedurally-generated pyramids and find more than 50 powerful weapons and game-changing scrolls, ensuring no two playthroughs are the same. With more than 50 weapons, 100 game-changing scrolls that help or hinder a run, and nine different player classes, the redneck has plenty of options for avenging his untimely demise.

With each death, the Redneck rises anew. Between runs, he can spend money accrued while plundering the ancient temples on stat upgrades, new classes with both active and passive abilities, and scrolls that modify the next run.

Scrolls are risky and come in positive and negative flavors, adding fun permutations. The Troll’s Foot scroll can be a blessing since it provided immunity to standing in lava and acid, but draw a negative scroll like Caution, Wet Floor, and the Redneck will continuously slide everywhere forever unable to stop.

“Immortal Redneck’s scrolls ensure that each run keeps players on their toes, which is perfect for the Nintendo Switch system’s pick-up-and-play nature,” said Guillermo Andrades, Co-Founder, Crema. “As one of the first retro-style first-person shooters on Nintendo Switch, we hope to soon see people blasting and bunny-hopping in public!”

Immortal Redneck will be available on Nintendo Switch in English, French, German, Spanish, Portuguese, Russian, Japanese, Simplified Chinese, Polish, and Korean for $19.99 USD / €19.99 / £17.99. The game will be available for preview on April 19. Crema’s first-person shooter is currently available on Steam, the PlayStation Network, and Xbox Live.

Lightwood Games’ Word Search by POWGI is now available on Nintendo Switch!

Word Search by POWGI is our take on the classic word puzzle game. This version for Nintendo Switch includes more than 300 puzzles, plus local and online multiplayer modes. Of course, you can play with touchscreen as well as controllers!

We’ve been amazed by the response to the game’s demo, which was released two weeks ago. Early feedback has been very positive and pre-order sales for Word Search by POWGI actually surpassed pre-orders for Pic-a-Pix Deluxe. We really didn’t expect an English-only word game – and a humble word search at that – to generate more hype than a language-free picross puzzle!

Of course, casual word puzzle games aren’t for everyone, but – as we suspected – there’s a strong audience on Nintendo Switch for the kind of games we make, and we’d like to think that Lightwood Games is earning a reputation for making great puzzle games on this platform, too.

Naturally, we have more word games by POWGI and logic puzzles by Conceptis in the pipeline for Nintendo Switch.

Sinner: Sacrifice for Redemption Slays Nintendo Switch in Q3 2018!

HONG KONG – April 11, 2018 – Sinner: Sacrifice for Redemption, the boss battler from publisher Another Indie and developer Dark Star Game Studios, will launch on Nintendo Switch alongside the previously announced PlayStation 4, Xbox One, Windows and Mac versions. All platforms will receive a simultaneous launch in Q3 2018.

Dark Star Game Studios is composed of AAA veterans including a former Ubisoft art director, Konami senior programmer and a Blizzard technical artist.

To atone for his wicked crimes, Adam, a soldier with a dark past, must set out on a quest for redemption and face off against monstrous enemies based on the seven deadly sins. His vile deeds and history with these beasts will unfold as he draws closer to absolution.

Sacrifice a part of Adam before each duel and receive a permanent debuff, resulting in reduced health, strength or equipment for the entirety of the journey. Each battle will become tougher than the last as debuffs stack, but new gear can be obtained by successfully conquering trials.

If all hope is lost, revive a defeated enemy to regain a sacrificed attribute and revisit the battle later. Experiment to find the optimal path to redemption or take on all debuffs simultaneously from the start for a challenging and rewarding journey.

“Sinner allows the player to choose a difficulty that fits them best while facing off in diverse battles,” says Iain Garner, director of developer relations, Another Indie. “Whether they are in search of the easiest order of bosses to fight or if they want to start the game with the most difficult conditions, Sinner tailors the adventure to them.”

Sinner: Sacrifice for Redemption will be available for $18.99 in English, Spanish, German, French, Chinese, Traditional Chinese, Japanese, Korean, Portuguese and Russian.

For more information about Sinner: Sacrifice for Redemption visit the official website, check out the Another Indie Discord or follow the game on Twitter and Facebook.

Bombslinger Blows Away Nintendo Switch Today!

BRUSSELS – April 11, 2018 – Bombslinger, the action-maze game from Mode4 filled with more explosives than a whiskey-fueled Fourth of July, launches on Nintendo Switch, Xbox One and PC today.

Take part in a tale of revenge right at home in the Wild West. Lead the Bombslinger, a former ruthless bandit, on a journey to avenge his missus. Blast away the Bombslinger’s merciless brother, the Gunslinger, and the rest of his heartless posse to make them pay for their betrayal.

Blow enemies to dust while clearing procedurally generated levels and upgrading the Bombslinger’s abilities. Purchase new items from the general store and go hog wild with a deadly arsenal of explosives in boss battles.

Hold your horses, though! There’s more to look forward to than a replayable tale of brotherly love gone up in flames. Take charge in an arcadey free-for-all game mode and face off against four fellow cowboys and cowgirls in high-stake bomb battles or blow AI bots to smithereens.

“Bombslinger is an absolute blast,” says Ferry Keesom, co-founder, programmer and designer, Mode4. “When players face off against their friends in the chaotic multiplayer or experience the single-player campaign, they’ll recognize modern design elements incorporated into this classic genre.”

What in tarnation are you waiting for? Bombslinger is available on Switch, Xbox and PC for $11.99 USD/ €11.99 and is available in English, French, Italian, Spanish and German.

Super Daryl Deluxe Starts Class Today on Nintendo Switch!

ROCHESTER, N.Y. – April 10, 2018 – Super Daryl Deluxe, the RPGvania with a brawler-style combat system and hand-drawn comic aesthetic from Dan & Gary Games, awkwardly introduces itself today on Nintendo Switch, PlayStation 4 and PC.

Welcome to Water Falls High School (WFHS), a prestigious and perfectly normal multidimensional educational institute, where classes are alternate worlds based on their subjects. Distill essences in giant beakers in Science or have a very weird encounter with a very drunk and naked Julius Caesar in History.

Daryl Whitelaw, WFHS’s newest student, still has a lot to learn if he wants to survive and more importantly, make friends. Students keep disappearing. The mysterious new principal sits sealed away in his office. Classrooms are on lockdown and rumors fly about the return of the little thing that almost destroyed the world 40 years ago.

Saving the day might be a stretch for someone who thinks a mullet is a fashionable haircut, but Daryl and his poor fashion sense are the last hope for the students of WFHS. Granted he’s pretty useless on his own, but with a mysterious self-help book Daryl can mix, customize, and upgrade more than 45 powers to unleash on foes.

Unfortunately for Daryl, there’s no page advising against mouth-breathing. Luckily, he can complete side quests for his classmates to try and make up for his lack of cool. Climbing the ladder of teenage judgement sucks, but if Daryl manages to get somewhere he can unlock sweet new passive abilities and other rewards.

“All I can do is look at this game and think ‘Oh no what have I done?’” said Gary Porter, Gary of Dan & Gary Games. “Our playtesters said they really like Super Daryl Deluxe, but maybe they were just trying to be nice.”

Super Daryl Deluxe is available in English for $19.99 USD and €19.99.

For more information, please visit Dan & Gary Games’ official website or follow them on Twitter and Facebook.

Thunderful Appoints New Director of Publishing!

Thunderful, the joint venture between Swedish devs Image & Form and Zoink, is delighted to announce the appointment of Ed Valiente as Director of Publishing.

In January, Brjann Sigurgeirsson of Image & Form and Klaus Lyngeled of Zoink announced merging their respective companies into Thunderful AB, which now owns both studios. With the SteamWorld franchise, Fe and lots of exciting games in the works, Thunderful constitutes a Swedish development powerhouse. Today they reveal the next piece of the puzzle, as Ed Valiente (formerly of Nintendo of Europe) joins the company.

“We needed someone to head up our publishing efforts, both for our own titles and potentially other awesome games as well,” says Thunderful CEO Sigurgeirsson. “Someone with ties to all levels of the gaming industry. And with Ed it all came together in the best way possible.”

Ed joins Thunderful after 8 years at Nintendo of Europe where, as Business Development Manager, he managed relationships with third-party publishers and developers and occasionally wore weird jumpers in Nintendo Direct broadcasts. Prior to Nintendo, Valiente also held positions at Sony, Square, Elixir, Microsoft and Rovio over a 20-year career.

Ed will be responsible for managing the portfolio of Image & Form- and Zoink-developed titles as well as scouting for new games to publish under the Thunderful label.

“Something, something, leverage; something, something, synergy,” says Valiente. “Nice people, great games and a cool city. How could I say no?”

We’re convinced it’ll all work out Thunderfully.
