BORDEAUX, France (July 10, 2018) — Dead Cells – the illegitimate child of the modern roguelite and an old-school metroidvania game – fully launches digitally on PC, Mac, Linux, Nintendo Switch, PlayStation 4 and Xbox One on August 7, 2018 for 24.99$/€. To celebrate this announcement, Motion Twin has released a hot new trailer.

The console version of Dead Cells includes a special 20% off pre-order discount on Dead Cells for 19.99$/€ available now (Nintendo of America pre-order goes live on July 18). Bringing the best of roguelite replayability and metroidvania-style permanent upgrades, Dead Cells aims to bring you permadeath, without the frustration of starting again. With almost 1 million copies sold on PC, you can be sure you’ll find something for you while you explore the interconnect levels, upgrade your weapons, take on formidable enemies and learn to master the game.

The core of the roguelite is player skill and personal progression, those unbeatable enemies from the first level? Stick with it and they’ll be nothing but a footnote in an exhilarating fight through to the final boss.

At launch, Dead Cells will include:

  • 13 Levels – Each one with its own atmosphere, foes and secrets to discover.
  • 4 Bosses – Made by the most sadistic of the devs, raised on the salt of the testers.
  • 80 or so weapons and skills – Spears, swords, bows, freeze blast, etc.
  • 4 special powers, unlocking new areas and paths (metroidvania gear lock items).
  • 1 Daily Run Mode Complete with leaderboards for lording it over your mates (PC version only).

Dead Cells is currently available in Early Access on Steam and GOG.com for $24.99 USD. The game will fully launch on August 7, 2018 for PC, Mac, Linux, PlayStation 4, Xbox One, and Nintendo Switch for the same price. Pre-orders available now with a 20% discount on consoles.

Motion Twin Announces Dead Cells Full Release on PC Planned for August 2018!

BORDEAUX, France (May 9, 2018) — Motion Twin is thrilled to announce that Dead Cells will be leaving Steam Early Access in August of 2018.

Today’s update brings us one step closer to leaving beta and bringing the complete, polished Dead Cells experience to PC and Console.

“With the seventh update rolling out on Early Access, Dead Cells is very close to being content complete, the lore being the last piece of the puzzle we’re working on for launch day. Although version 1.0 definitely won’t be the end, as we’ve already promised one major free DLC to the community that made all of this possible.”
—Steve Filby, Producer at Motion Twin

“The Baguette Update” brings a major rework to the core game, which includes a complete overhaul of the item upgrade system “The Forge”, legendary item drops, new ways to customize items, a revamped UI and the kind of polish you expect from a finished game.

Dead Cells is currently available in Early Access on Steam and GOG.com for $19.99 USD or the Razer Game Store at 33% off for a limited time. With the release out of Early Access, the price is likely to be increased one last time.

Motion Twin Confirms Dead Cells Will Have Console Retail Release in August!

BORDEAUX, France (May 9, 2018) — Motion Twin is thrilled to announce a new partnership with Merge Games to bring Dead Cells to retail for Nintendo Switch and PlayStation®4!

Having sold more than 700,000 copies while in Steam Early Access, the developers at Motion Twin can’t wait for console players to see the finished result of their hard work in Early Access.

“We’ve been absolutely floored by the success of Dead Cells and the reaction of the PC gaming community. So many people have asked for the game on console, so partnering with Merge for a retail copy just makes sense. We can’t wait to welcome console players to our community, to hear their feedback and to work with them on future updates of the game.”
—Steve Filby, Producer at Motion Twin

Dead Cells is currently available in Early Access on Steam and GOG.com for $19.99 USD. With the release out of Early Access, the price is likely to increase.
