Lightwood Games’ Word Search by POWGI is now available on Nintendo Switch!
Word Search by POWGI is our take on the classic word puzzle game. This version for Nintendo Switch includes more than 300 puzzles, plus local and online multiplayer modes. Of course, you can play with touchscreen as well as controllers!
We’ve been amazed by the response to the game’s demo, which was released two weeks ago. Early feedback has been very positive and pre-order sales for Word Search by POWGI actually surpassed pre-orders for Pic-a-Pix Deluxe. We really didn’t expect an English-only word game – and a humble word search at that – to generate more hype than a language-free picross puzzle!
Of course, casual word puzzle games aren’t for everyone, but – as we suspected – there’s a strong audience on Nintendo Switch for the kind of games we make, and we’d like to think that Lightwood Games is earning a reputation for making great puzzle games on this platform, too.
Naturally, we have more word games by POWGI and logic puzzles by Conceptis in the pipeline for Nintendo Switch.

Lightwood Games making Epic Word Search Collection for 3DS!
Lightwood Games has announced Epic Word Search Collection for the 3DS eShop. The game brings together five of the previously released “epic” puzzles. Each puzzle has more than 1,500 words hidden with it, with more than 14,000 letters in each of the five puzzles. The game is priced at $7.99/ €7.99 / £5.99 and will launch on July 23rd in the US and on July 16th in Europe.
The developers estimate that each puzzle could take up to 10 hours to complete. Using streetpass, players will be able to exchange data regarding their puzzle progress.
This is not the first time we have seen Lightwood Games on Nintendo platforms. The studio released Word Search by POWGI earlier this year for both the Wii U and 3DS.
