Pic-a-Pix Pieces Out Today For Nintendo Switch!

Staffordshire, UK – Lightwood Games are kicking off 2019 with the release of Pic-a-Pix Pieces, their latest picture puzzle game for Nintendo Switch, available from January 3rd on the Nintendo eShop.

Pic-a-Pix is a picture logic game, sometimes known as Picross, Nonogram or Hanjie, where whimsical pixel-art pictures are created by solving puzzles.

In Pic-a-Pix Pieces, large pictures have been split into a number of smaller pieces. Each piece is a puzzle grid, and by solving them all you’ll form a mosaic that reveals a spectacular final image.

Lightwood Games previously released Pic-a-Pix Deluxe on Nintendo Switch, and this game includes all the key features from the previous title, including the most recent refinements, such as touch-screen controls, co-operative play for up to 4 players and a flexible colourblind mode.

As with Lightwood’s previous titles, puzzles are designed by Conceptis, the world’s leading supplier of logic puzzles. The puzzles in Pic-a-Pix Pieces are an exciting new Pic-a-Pix variant, created exclusively for this game.

Pic-a-Pix Pieces supports English, French, German and Spanish.

A free demo was released in December, featuring two sample Christmas-themed images. This will be removed from the eShop next week to make way for a new demo.

Lightwood Games will continue to support both Pic-a-Pix Pieces and Pic-a-Pix Deluxe on Nintendo Switch, with new monthly DLC puzzle packs throughout 2019.

In fact, January will also see the release of Classic Puzzles 13 and Giant Puzzles 7 for Pic-a-Pix Deluxe, bringing the total number of puzzles available in that game to more than 2,500!

Pic-a-Pix Pieces will also be available on PlayStation 4 and PS Vita from January 8th.

Word Sudoku – Switch Game Footage!

Word Sudoku Launching Nov 22nd on Nintendo Switch; Demo Now Available To Download!

Staffordshire, UK – Lightwood Games is delighted to announce that Word Sudoku by POWGI is coming to Nintendo Switch, with a free playable demo now available on the Nintendo eShop.

Word Sudoku by POWGI is a word-based twist on the classic logic puzzle game.

The core gameplay will be familiar to sudoku fans, but instead of using the digits 1 to 9, Word Sudoku is solved by placing nine different letters so that no row, column or grid section contains the same letter twice.

When completed, each puzzle will reveal a different nine-letter word, spelled across one row or column of the grid. This can act as an additional hint, if needed.

Players can also switch the puzzle into “number mode” if they prefer.

Touch screen controls are supported in Handheld Mode, but the game can also be played in Tabletop Mode or TV Mode using a controller.

The game contains 240 puzzles in various difficulties and is priced at $7.99 / GBP £6.99 / €7.99. Pre-orders are now open.

Fill-a-Pix: Phil’s Epic Adventure Brings a World of Picture Puzzles to Nintendo Switch!

Staffordshire, UK – Lightwood Games is proud to announce that Fill-a-Pix: Phil’s Epic Adventure is now available on the Nintendo eShop for Nintendo Switch.

Fill-a-Pix: Phil’s Epic Adventure is the newest picture logic puzzle from the makers of Pic-a-Pix Deluxe, the popular full-colour picross game which was released earlier this year.

Developed by Lightwood Games and featuring puzzles by Conceptis, it introduces a brand new style – and scale – of picture puzzle to Nintendo Switch users.

The game’s narrator, Phil, invites players to assist him in developing photographs taken on his travel adventures. His not-so-instant camera has captured pictures in the form of logic puzzles!

The solutions are stunning pixel-art photos from around the world, ranging from small introductory pictures to massive landscapes with more than 6,000 pixels to fill in!

Often described as a mix of minesweeper and picross, Fill-a-Pix has only one rule. Each clue number shows how many squares in a block of nine – the clue itself, plus the eight squares around
it – should be filled in black.

A full interactive tutorial is also included to make sure players understand all the techniques needed to get stuck in. The unique Smart Cursor feature makes playing fluid and satisfying.

Options to guide you towards the next move and to check your progress so far mean you’ll never get stuck.

The Nintendo Switch version of the game contains 120 puzzles, including new puzzles which were not previously included in the Nintendo 3DS version. A further pack of 40 brand new puzzles, featuring photos from Phil’s USA Road Trip, is available as DLC.

A playable demo of the game is also available on the Nintendo eShop.

Lightwood Games Release Giant Puzzles 2 DLC For Pic-a-Pix Deluxe on Nintendo Switch!

This pack contains 30 new puzzles in the largest sizes: 30×20 and 35×25.

Giant Puzzles 2 was previously available as DLC for the Wii U version of the game, but players who previously enjoyed the game on Nintendo 3DS will not have had chance to play these puzzles before – they were just too large to fit on screen on 3DS!

The pack is priced USD $2.99 or GBP £2.99.

We have seen quite a bit of interest for more of these larger puzzles on Nintendo Switch, so we are hoping to include more Giant packs as we continue to support this game with new monthly DLC.
