London, UK – 15th October 2020: Curve Digital and Runner Duck are delighted to announce that the intergalactic crew management strategy game, Space Crew, is out now for Nintendo Switch, PC, Xbox One, and PlayStation 4.

The sequel to the STEAM chart-topping title, Bomber Crew moves the theatre of war from World War Two to the far-flung future with players challenged to fight a conflict on an intergalactic scale. Armed with their own carefully chosen crew and fully customisable spaceship, captains must protect Earth and venture across the galaxy to stave off a new alien threat known as the Phasmids.

“We’re beyond excited that Space Crew is releasing today, to boldly take players past the final frontier and into a galactic land of adventure” says Jon Wingrove, co-founder of Runner Duck Games.  “With this sequel to Bomber Crew, we took inspiration from some of our favorite sci-fi stories and tropes and we’re thrilled about all the support we have received so far from the community. As a small team of three people, seeing the excitement coming from players across the world as they start playing is a genuine tonic.”

Space Crew is as varied as it is challenging, with aspiring captains having to manage their crew members one-by-one during missions to ensure objectives with ‘minimal’ casualties. Phasmid attacks, black holes, falling oxygen levels, incursions from other-worldly organisms, system failures and more are just some of the challenges crews will have to face head-on, with the AI always ready to chuck something dastardly into the mix.

Space Crew is available now for PC and consoles, priced at £17.99 / €19.99 / $19.99, with a limited time 20% off discount applied to all platforms so be sure to head to your platform storefront of choice.

Peaky Blinders: Mastermind is a puzzle-adventure game based on the multi-award-winning TV show where players will pull the strings, as Tommy Shelby and his gang seek to take control of the streets of Birmingham in the early 20th century.

Set right before the events of the first season, players will join the Shelby family’s criminal organisation as they discover a sinister plot to put Tommy out of business. James Marsden, Founder, FuturLab said:

Our concept came down to a simple idea at the heart of the show: The Soldier’s Minute; where everything in a battle can be decided. This idea inspired us to offer the player an opportunity to feel as smart and powerful as Tommy Shebly, coordinating all the Peaky Blinders to pull off daring acts in perfect sync..”

Simon Byron, Publishing Director, Curve Digital added:
“There’s often scepticism about licensed titles, which is why we have been so delighted to work with FuturLab and their concept – The Soldier’s Minute – it felt like a fresh, innovative approach to how to design a licensed game, and was clearly a perfect fit for the franchise. We hope the game resonates with fans now that they can get their hands on the title.”

Caryn Mandabach Productions’ Jamie Glazebrook, executive producer of Peaky Blinders, said:
“James and his team at FuturLab found an ingenious way to take the DNA of Peaky Blinders and turn it into an utterly compelling game. I’m thrilled beyond measure that both fans of the show and players new to our world will finally be able to experience it for themselves.”

Curve Digital Announces Space Crew For Nintendo Switch!

London, UK – Monday 15th June – It’s time to trade in that bomber jacket and suit up for some snug red velour as the multi-million selling, critically acclaimed strategic simulation game Bomber Crew is getting a long-awaited sequel.

UK publisher Curve Digital and Brighton-based independent studio Runner Duck are delighted to announce Space Crew – the next instalment in the massively successful Crew series. In this brand new entry, players are tasked with defending Earth against a mysterious new alien menace by carefully recruiting crew members, designing their own spaceship and venturing across the cosmos.

“We at Runner Duck have always been huge fans of sci-fi movies like Alien, Star Trek, Interstellar, and Star Wars,” said Runner Duck co-founder Dave Wingrove. “We had so much fun crafting Bomber Crew, we just couldn’t wait to explore all the possibilities a far future setting would offer. Recruiting your crew for typical space sci-fi positions and then sending them out on missions into the perilous depths of space is an ideal theme for the ‘Crew’ series.”

Space Crew will feature the same compelling gameplay loop as its beloved predecessor with players controlling the actions of their crew moment-to-moment in the minutiae of navigation, scanning and combat. The new space setting allows much more player freedom and campaign unpredictability with much greater mission variety and deeper strategic gameplay.

Players will have to be more alert than ever when venturing through space and are challenged to protect their vulnerable crew from alien boardings, getting sucked out into space, running out of oxygen, system failures, ship fires and whatever else the campaign AI can throw at them from mission to mission. It is these moments of seeing your crew triumph over adversity time and time again, albeit with a few casualties along the way, which made the original Bomber Crew such a runaway hit and Runner Duck is aiming for similarly thrilling emergent storytelling in the sequel.

And the really great news is that fans of the original Bomber Crew and aspiring space adventurers won’t have long to wait to try Space Crew. Runner Duck and Curve Digital’s sequel has been selected by Valve to be part of the Steam Summer Games Festival, with everyone able to try out an early slice of the game for free from Wednesday 10th June to Sunday 14th June.

Space Crew will launch simultaneously across PC, Xbox One, Nintendo Switch and PlayStation 4 this September.

Peaky Blinders: Mastermind comes to Nintendo Switch This Summer!

London, UK – Wednesday 22nd April, 2020: Curve Digital is both excited and proud to cast more light on its plans to bring the first game based on the award-winning Peaky Blinders, one of the most popular dramas on global TV in recent years, to PlayStation 4, Xbox One, Nintendo Switch, and PC in summer 2020.

The game taps directly into Tommy’s talent for planning complex scenarios in his head, with players forming strategies by taking control of key members of the Shelby family down on the ground.

It’s a crafty, credible, and most importantly creative take on the world of Peaky Blinders that,  as James Marsden, Game Director at FuturLab explains, saw the development team use a key juncture in the series as the inspiration for the core mechanic employed in play:

“There’s a point in the show where Tommy Shelby explains he has no concern for the past, nor the future; all he cares about is a crucial moment he recalls the soldier’s minute,” details Marsden“We designed our game around that idea, allowing the player to plan actions backward and forward in time, choreographing an ensemble cast of characters to synchronise their actions during these crucial moments. The player gets to feel like the smart and sophisticated leader that Tommy is, so we think becoming the mastermind will resonate with fans of the show and gamers alike.”

As Marsden describes, In Peaky Blinders: Mastermind, players will be able to freely set and rewind each character’s path in order to tune all of their actions for perfect coordination, tactically utilising characters and stealth to solve increasingly complex puzzles. It’s an inventive take on the series that suitably impressed publisher Curve Digital.

“We were floored by James and Kirsty’s original idea for a Peaky Blinders game,” says Simon Byron, Publishing Director, Curve Digital“At its heart, Peaky Blinders is a story about a family, and capturing the ability to control the Shelbys simultaneously across the game’s narrative is such a smart way to bring the show to life. The mechanic they’ve created to allow players to directly control Tommy, Arthur, Polly, John, Ada and Finn across one looping timeline opens up unique gameplay possibilities, stylishly brought to life in FuturLab’s trademark gorgeous art style. It’s a game that almost defies categorization – part action, part puzzle, part adventure, but all inventive.

“There’s often skepticism about licensed titles, so we’ve worked really hard to ensure this is a game which stands within the Peaky Blinders universe, whilst bringing something completely fresh and original. We’ve lived with the secret for a while now. It’s such a relief to be finally able to unveil Peaky Blinders: Mastermind.”

Key to the game’s development has been the involvement of those behind the source material, with Steven Knight – Peaky Blinders creator and writer – commenting: “Peaky Blinders has become more than a TV show, it has become a worldwide phenomenon. With the launch of the Peaky Blinders: Mastermind game we are inviting you to enter that world and take part in it, live in it and take your place beside the Shelby family as they fight for their very survival.  You’re going to have to be as smart as Tommy, as tough as Arthur, as ruthless as Polly.  Good luck and remember, you really are a Peaky Blinder now.”

Jamie Glazebrook, Executive Producer at Caryn Mandabach Productions adds“As the TV show continues to find new audiences around the world, it’s a real thrill to see Peaky Blinders brought to life as a video game, especially in a way that properly understands that the Shelbys are about brains just as much as they are about brawn. I’ve no doubt that Peaky Blinders: Mastermind will prove every bit as addictive and immersive as the series that inspired it.”

In Peaky Blinders: Mastermind players will:

  • Witness the rise of Tommy Shelby as the true leader of the Peaky Blinders in early 20th century Birmingham
  • Utilize Tommy’s prowess for planning to set up complex scenarios
  • Control Tommy, Arthur, Polly and more on the ground as they pull off mission after mission

FuturLab has collaborated with Feverist, the U.K. art-rock band who were involved in the soundtrack to Peaky Blinders Series 1, to create an original bespoke soundtrack for the game. They are revealing tomorrow the single Reveller from the upcoming soundtrack album, as well as The Secret featured in the reveal trailer.

Peaky Blinders Season 5 is available from today on Netflix in the UK. The season launched on BBC One in autumn 2019 to its highest ratings yet.

Created and written by Steven Knight (Dirty Pretty Things, Eastern Promises and Locke), the multi-award-winning BBC One and Netflix series is produced by Peaky Blinders official brand owner Caryn Mandabach Productions and by Endemol Shine Group’s Tiger Aspect Productions.

Endemol Shine Group represents a range of global ancillary rights for Peaky Blinders which is distributed by Endemol Shine across more than 180 countries.

Peaky Blinders: Mastermind will launch on PlayStation 4, Xbox One, Nintendo Switch, and PC later in 2020.
