More characters announced for 13AM Games’ Runbow!
Runbow’s crazy breed of colour-based running action has already enlisted the help of the likes of Shovel Knight, Scram Kitty, and CommanderVideo to help in the endless task of running from one place to another, and now that list of indie guests has just grown even larger.
In this exclusive trailer 13AM Games’ frantic 9-player party game shows off nine brand new characters from all across the indie spectrum, namely Gunvolt from Azure Striker Gunvolt, Teslamancer from Teslagrad, Clone from Stealth Inc, ARID from The Fall, Xeodrifter from Xeodrifter, Princess from Chariot, Max from Mutant Mudds, Drifter from Hyper Light Drifter, and Unity Chan (Unity Japan’s mascot character).
These new members complete the substantial roster to make Runbow feel like a virtual indie Super Smash Bros. in its scope of available characters.

Massive Update Brings a Boatload of New Content to Splatoon!
A free software update in the Splatoon game for the Wii U console brings a large amount of new content to the game today, including two new matchmaking modes, new weapon types, an increase to the game’s level cap and more than 40 pieces of new gear. Players will now be able to create a winning strategy and fight to be the best and most battle-tested squid squad around.
The new update introduces Squad Battle and Private Battle matchmaking options. In Squad Battle, players can participate in Ranked Battle rule sets with friends, rather than being teamed up with other players through a random selection. After a player creates a squad, friends can be recruited to form a team of two to four Inklings. Friends will always play together on the same team and battle against other squads at random.
In Private Battle, friends can splat it up in private, customizable matches. Two to eight friends can battle together by selecting their favourite map, mode and weapons. The number of participants ranges from 1v1 to 4v4, but teams don’t have to be even: If the host chooses, he or she can select a 1v4, 1v2, or any other combination of players.
With this robust new update also comes an increased level cap in both Regular Battle and Ranked Battle modes. After downloading the software update, players will be able to reach level 50 (raised from level 20) and rank S and S+ (both higher than A+).
While Inklings around the world are enjoying and mastering the current arsenal of weapons in Splatoon, two new weapon types will be available with the update, adding a new layer of strategy to the game. The bucket-like Slosher weapons hurl ink straight ahead at an impressive range. By adjusting the angle, these new weapons can be used to splat opponents who are up high or even on the other side of a wall. With the Gatling-style Splatling, players can charge blasts of all-powerful ink. A maximum charge unleashes the full potential of this particular weapon type. In addition to the new weapons, more than 40 pieces of gear, including everything from a leather jacket to a sushi-chef costume, are coming to the various in-game shops in Splatoon.
Despite its size and scope, this massive update is not the end of the splat-acular free content coming to Splatoon. Following this update, more content will continually roll out through the rest of the summer and fall, including the Rainmaker Ranked Battle mode, additional maps and new weapons. More details about these additions will be revealed in the future.

Team17 interested in bringing their titles to Nintendo if consumer demand is there!
I recently spoke to Deborah Bestwick on twitter, who is the MD/Owner of Team17 Ltd. It seems Deborah is a huge Nintendo fan and would consider bringing their titles to the Wii U / 3DS / NX platforms if there’s enough consumer interest.
I would love to see Alien Breed on the Wii U. I watched a trailer for the PC remake that came out a few years back, and think this game could do quite well as it reminds me of Gauntlet.
I’ve created a Survey for everyone to fill out and show their support. I will be handing the results of the survey over to Team17 so they can decide if it’s viable to bring their games to Nintendo’s platforms.
You can complete the survey by clicking HERE!
@twinworld @Team17Ltd personally own both and a super massive @NintendoUK fan. Listening:)

On July 30th, a new Miiverse Journal will be available for all players to share and leave notes about their adventures. The Wii U GamePad will allow players to post and view hints, share the secrets they find, and more,f during real-time gameplay. Adding to the excitement, PlayEveryWare and Ansimuz Games collaborated on creating fun new Miiverse Stamps to use in their Miiverse posts. Over twenty Stamps can be unlocked as players defeat bosses, discover secrets, and explore new locations in each of the multiple game endings.
“We are really excited to see how players will use this new feature” said PlayEveryWare co-founder Thomas O’Connor. “Elliot Quest’s Miiverse community is so amazingly positive and supportive of one another!
