Red Wings: Aces of the Sky Featured in New Trailer!

Krakow, Poland – February 18, 2020. Publisher All in! Games has released a brand-new live-action trailer for Red Wings: Aces of the Sky! It’s an arcade action game that lets you become a flying legend of the Great War! Pilot warplanes of Entente Powers and the Triple Alliance on your PC and consoles. The excitement takes off on Nintendo Switch first!

In the beginning of 1917, Manfred von Richthofen became the leader of the No 11 Fighter Squadron Jasta 11. Under his command, the squadron gained many of the best German pilots of the time. Giraffe and Annika Heading to Switch Later This Year!

TOKYO – Feb. 18, 2020 – Giraffe and Annika, a musically charged 3D adventure from publisher PLAYISM and developer Atelier Mimina, warms hearts on PCs via Steam today with Nintendo Switch, PlayStation 4, and Xbox One versions taking a half-rest until later in 2020.

Annika, a bright-eyed girl with cat ears, works with Giraffe, a cat-boy with an old soul, to recover her memories. Follow a manga-style comic narrative and help the duo collect three shimmering star fragments housed deep in the vivid dungeons of the curious and calm Spica Island. Each glittering gem gives Annika a new power, unlocking previously unreachable areas, opportunities to collect additional outfits, and cat-tastic meow-sterpieces of art to view at the local museum.

From the lead designer of Osu! Tatakae! Ouendan, Giraffe and Annika features handcrafted rhythm boss battles against operatic opposition, like the colossal crustacean called the Crab King, and Lily, wily witch of the forbidden forest. Defeat these formidable foes to the beat, synchronizing attacks to each boss’ custom track.

“Giraffe and Annika has been a passion project with rhythm sections inspired by Elite Beat Agents, which was in turn influenced by my team’s work on Osu! Tatakae! Ouendan!” Atsushi Saito, sole developer, Atelier Mimina. “Creating the adventures players will have with Annika has really been an adventure in itself. I hope players enjoy how her journey with Giraffe unfolds, punctuated by the rhythm boss fights, which were so much fun to make.”

Giraffe & Annika will be available on Steam in English, Japanese, and Chinese (simplified and traditional) for $19.99 USD.

Score-attack Synth Nightmare TERROR SQUID is Coming to Switch This Spring!

Oslo, Norway – February 14th, 2020 – Apt Games is unleashing its score-attack synth nightmare TERROR SQUID unto the masses this Spring on Nintendo Switch and Steam. Prepare to wreak havoc upon the world as the eponymous TERROR SQUID.

TERROR SQUID is an easy to understand but difficult to master arcade game in which every enemy projectile is emitted by you, the TERROR SQUID. Set around a doomed planet, you’re a cosmic chaos entity spinning around the world emitting all manner of hazardous projectiles. What goes around comes around, as your inky bullet reign of terror circles around the globe creating an apocalypse of your own design. TERROR SQUID obliterates genre conventions of tightly choreographed patterns, and instead puts you in the role of your own worst enemy. Think fast and strategically as you weave through a bullet hell of your own making!

Your objective is to survive for as long as possible without getting hit by your own projectiles. Survive for long enough and you can release a primordial blast of dark energy, detonating your projectiles in glorious chain reactions.

Inspired by the spherical maps of Super Stardust and the short, intense action of Devil Daggers, TERROR SQUID is an endlessly addictive test of strategy and reflexes. Only the best players will manage to survive for even a minute in this unholy vector graphics apocalypse. Destroy worlds, ascend the leaderboards, and become one with the void in TERROR SQUID.

TERROR SQUID is the first Norwegian developed arcade game. Having won the grand prize in the Norwegian Gameplay Championships, the Norwegian Film Institute funded the creation of a real TERROR SQUID arcade cabinet, which can be played at Tilt, the largest arcade bar in Europe.

“It’s such a simple premise, but we fine-tuned it to have plenty of tactical, score-chasing depth, and playthroughs are brief and tense enough to feel like an epic odyssey in the span of a minute. The true terror is how much time you’ll procrastinate on work playing the damn thing!”  said TERROR SQUID Creative Director Syver Lauritzsen.

30XX Coming to PC and Consoles in 2021!

POST-HUMAN EARTH – Feb. 13, 30XX – Batterystaple Games, the studio behind 20XX which was named one of the Top Early Access Graduates of 2017 by Valve and purchased by more than 200,000 fans of co-op roguelike platformer action, is proud to announce a follow-up to its hit first effort, 30XX. Developed with support from Kowloon Nights, 30XX will make its debut at PAX East 2020 before double jumping and dashing to Windows PC and consoles in 2021.

Inspired by classic Mega Man titles and infused with modern design, 30XX builds upon 20XX’s Megaroguelike foundation with a plethora of new features including a new hi-bit art style from art director Glauber Kotaki (Rogue Legacy, Duelyst, and Chasm) and a fresh set of eight new worlds to explore, each with their own identity, platforming mechanics, and fearsome Guardian.

Beyond the aesthetic overhaul, 20XX heroes Nina and Ace return with a myriad of new abilities. No longer merely wielding different primary weapons, in 30XX the powerful pair possess entirely distinct move sets allowing greater freedom of expression for both exploring levels and beating back the machines holding Earth prisoner.

Nina’s new Power Fusion system allows her to meld together abilities earned from vanquishing bosses and tailor them to the situation at hand with 64 separate attacks. Meanwhile, the blade-brandishing Ace boasts a versatile set of Techniques, which can be chained together with standard attacks to unleash fierce combos, adapt to any situation, and reach new heights.

30XX also introduces a fresh level of roguelike challenge and reward with its new metagame currency, Memoria. Collected during runs, Memoria can augment the experience, boosting character abilities, giving keen insight into the challenges to come, or altering how stages generate other helping hands. Once certain criteria are met, turn up the heat with Entropy Conditions, introducing optional layers of additional difficulty in exchange for Memoria and other rewards.

“The response to 20XX has been incredible, but we still see many ways we can continue to improve and expand upon the wonderful game our community helped us build,” said Chris King, founder of Batterystaple. “With 30XX, our mission is to realize the limitless potential the genre offers, and we can’t wait to bring our fans into the fold to help shape the process.”

30XX will be available for hands-on demos in the Indie MEGABOOTH at booth 21027 during PAX East 2020 in Boston, Mass. Feb. 27-March 1 ahead of its full release across Windows PC and other video game platforms in 2021.

Conan Chop Chop To Hit The eShop in Q2 2020 On Nintendo Switch!

OSLO, Norway – Feb 12th, 2020 – With all the elements of a hack and slash rogue-lite for 1-4 players being packed into one game, it’s no wonder developer Mighty Kingdom and publisher Funcom have decided to move the launch of Conan Chop Chop from February 25th to Q2 2020.

“We are almost at the finish line. The additional time is to ensure that the game is optimized for online multiplayer, and to give us a chance to add some polish here and there. It’s basically all about getting that final Chop in place,” says Mighty Kingdom CEO Philip Mayes, adding that, “This isn’t merely a one-chop game. This is Conan Chop Chop, and that necessitates extra attention to detail.”

Conan Chop Chop was cheekily announced on April 1st, 2019, and was perceived to be an April Fools’ Day joke. The 1-4 player rogue-lite was then unveiled as a real game during E3, where press and influencers got the first hands-on preview. Conan Chop Chop will be released on PC, PlayStation 4, Xbox One, and Nintendo Switch.

Underhero’s Adventure Has Been Delayed Until February 27th on Nintendo Switch.

11 February, 2020 – It’s with regret that Digerati has to announce the Nintendo Switch release of 2D RPG-platformer Underhero has been delayed to 27 February. Originally scheduled to come out later this week, the decision to delay has been taken to ensure that a patch to address a number of issues will be available at launch.

A day one patch will be available for the PS4 and Xbox One versions, so they will launch as planned on 11/12 February (NA/EU) and 14 February respectively.

While we’re hugely disappointed Nintendo Switch owners have a little longer to wait, delaying Underhero means players will be able to experience the best possible version of the game on day one.

Hungarian Mythology Comes to Life in Operencia: The Stolen Sun For Nintendo Switch!

San Francisco, CA – February 11, 2020  Zen Studios is proud to announce Operencia: The Stolen Sun is expanding to new platforms including PlayStation 4, Nintendo Switch, Steam, and GOG.com next month on March 31st. Operencia: The Stolen Sun breathes new life into the classic first-person, dungeon-crawler genre while also unifying Central European folklore and legends – most of which have never been depicted in video games – into one cohesive and immersive universe.

The land of Operencia is an unconventional fantasy world where history meets legend – a faraway land referenced in countless Central European folktales spanning hundreds of years of oral tradition. For the first time ever, these stories all occur in the context of one single universe. Adding further depth, real-life historical figures populate the game, such as more legendary versions of Attila, King of the Huns, and his wife Réka. Locations vary from common fairytale settings (e.g., castles, tombs and forests) to fantastical versions of storied landmarks anyone can physically visit today.

Zen has gone to great lengths to ensure that everything in Operencia: The Stolen Sun feels familiar to RPG players, yet still modern and unique. Through a classic, tile-based movement system, players explore the far reaches of the land, engaging in strategic turn-based battles at every turn. The quest to free the abducted Sun King, Napkirály – thereby saving Operencia from endless days of night – is rife with malevolent monsters, devious traps, mind-bending puzzles and perhaps even a three-headed dragon…
