Conan Chop Chop To Hit The eShop in Q2 2020 On Nintendo Switch!

OSLO, Norway – Feb 12th, 2020 – With all the elements of a hack and slash rogue-lite for 1-4 players being packed into one game, it’s no wonder developer Mighty Kingdom and publisher Funcom have decided to move the launch of Conan Chop Chop from February 25th to Q2 2020.

“We are almost at the finish line. The additional time is to ensure that the game is optimized for online multiplayer, and to give us a chance to add some polish here and there. It’s basically all about getting that final Chop in place,” says Mighty Kingdom CEO Philip Mayes, adding that, “This isn’t merely a one-chop game. This is Conan Chop Chop, and that necessitates extra attention to detail.”

Conan Chop Chop was cheekily announced on April 1st, 2019, and was perceived to be an April Fools’ Day joke. The 1-4 player rogue-lite was then unveiled as a real game during E3, where press and influencers got the first hands-on preview. Conan Chop Chop will be released on PC, PlayStation 4, Xbox One, and Nintendo Switch.

Conan Chop Chop Arrives Feb 25th on Nintendo Switch!

OSLO, Norway – Dec 18th, 2019 – Australian developer Mighty Kingdom and Norwegian publisher Funcom are proud to announce February 25th, 2020 as the release date of the upcoming action-adventure game Conan Chop Chop.

“We have had so much fun developing this game, that I actually have mixed feelings about the end being nigh,” admits Mighty Kingdom CEO Philip Mayes. “An action-adventure rogue-lite party-game. Featuring Conan. I mean, what more can you ask for?”

Mighty Kingdom have had a busy year, travelling from Adelaide in South Australia to LA, Cologne and Melbourne to show off Conan Chop Chop, in between development. In October they were named Studio of the Year at Australian Game Developer Awards. “It’s been hard work, but really enjoyable. Some of my favorite moments were in LA and Cologne, where we got to see how much people enjoyed playing Chop Chop. And now that we have polished the game further, I am really looking forward to seeing the reception it will have at launch,” says Philip Mayes.

Conan Chop Chop was cheekily announced an April 1 st, 2019, and therefore at first perceived as an April Fool’s Day joke, but with gamers and pundits alike stating “I wish this were real”. When it was re-announced during E3, it received rave previews. A journalist from Hollywood Reporter noted “The most fun I saw anybody having was with the game Conan Chop Chop”, calling it “a top-notch party game”. Philip Mayes agrees. “It’s the perfect single-player game. But even better with friends.”

Conan Chop Chop will be released on PC, PlayStation 4, Xbox One, and Nintendo Switch on February 25th.

Conan Chop Chop release moved to Q1 2020 to include online multiplayer!

OSLO, Norway – Aug 26th, 2019 – Publisher Funcom and developer Mighty Kingdom announced today that the release of Conan Chop Chop, the action-adventure roguelike that was teased on April 1st and revealed at E3 this year, will be moved to Q1 2020. Following a very successful first demo of the game to press this summer, the companies have decided to increase their investment in the project to deliver a bigger and better game. Among the features to be implemented in the upcoming action-adventure roguelike is online multiplayer.

“We had an absolute blast showcasing the game at E3 and Gamescom earlier this year. It was especially gratifying to see how much fun people had playing the game in co-op mode. The teamwork, the banter, the way people moved ever so sneakily towards their near-death companions in order to pick up their gold when they fall… We couldn’t have been happier with the reception,” says founder and CEO of Mighty Kingdom Philip Mayes.

“One of the things we get to do with the extra time is expand multiplayer from just couch co-op to also include full online multiplayer,“ says Mayes. “This has undoubtedly been THE most requested feature after we started showing off the game, so we’re very excited for the opportunity to bring that in.”

Conan Chop Chop is due to release in the first quarter of 2020 on PC, Xbox One, PlayStation 4 and Nintendo Switch.
