From the award-winning indie game studio, Gambrinous, creators of Guild of Dungeoneering, comes an RPG where battles are played with an epic collectible card game. Cardpocalypse encourages you to make friends, play cards, twist the rules and become a Mega Mutant Power Pets master as you try to save the world in this single-player RPG about being a 90’s kid. In Cardpocalypse, you’ll trade, earn, wager and change rules, even permanently altering cards on your way to victory.

Build your decks around the ultra rare Champion cards you earn. Each Champion comes with unique abilities to tailor your deck around. First player to get their opponent’s Champion card’s health to zero wins the match. You will have to customize and overpower your favorite cards by applying stickers on them, on your path to saving the world from an impending mutant invasion. Players can earn better cards by completing quests, trading your candy stash for them, and defeating opponents.

“Cardpocalypse taps the nostalgic vein with a superb blend of narrative and unique card game mechanics all wrapped up in an RPG that takes card battling to a whole new level,” said Steve Escalante, General Manager of Versus Evil.

Cardpocalypse will also be seeing new content next year, starting with the free Gauntlet Mode update. Choose a Champion and work your way through a series of challenges in a mega mutated version of draft mode. As you progress you will unlock more cards, more decks, and more playable Champions.

Staffordshire, UK – Lightwood Games is adding a little sparkle to December gaming with a special Christmas-themed demo for Nintendo Switch.

A free trial version of Link-a-Pix Deluxe is available on the Nintendo eShop on Thursday December 12th, and can be downloaded for a limited time ahead of the game’s full release on January 2nd.

Link-a-Pix is a clue-linking puzzle, solved by painting lines between clues which have the same colour and number. The number shows the length of the line which will connect them.

The Christmas demo offers a preview with four seasonal pictures in different sizes.

Link-a-Pix Deluxe is Lightwood’s fifth game on Nintendo Switch to feature puzzles by Conceptis Ltd, the world’s leading supplier of logic puzzles.

It follows previous titles Pic-a-Pix Deluxe and Pic-a-Pix Pieces, which are both colour nonogram games; Block-a-Pix Deluxe, a block-painting picture puzzle; and Phil’s Epic Fill-a-Pix Adventure, a logic game that plays like cross between picross and minesweeper.

Link-a-Pix Deluxe contains 120 brand new full-colour puzzles and 120 unique – and more challenging – mono puzzles, all designed by Conceptis Ltd.

Puzzles previously released as Link-a-Pix Color on Nintendo 3DS family systems will be made available as add-on content, and Lightwood will support Link-a-Pix Deluxe throughout 2020 with new monthly puzzle packs.

Link-a-Pix Deluxe will be available to download on January 2nd, 2020 on the Nintendo eShop. Pre-orders are now open.

Link-a-Pix Deluxe supports English, French, German and Spanish.

Toronto, Canada — December 9th, 2019 — Vertex Pop, the team behind the acclaimed feel good action game, Graceful Explosion Machine, today announced that their fast-paced stylish brawler, Super Crush KO, is coming to the eShop for Nintendo Switch and Steam on January 16th, 2020.

To mark the announcement, Vertex Pop has released a fast-paced gameplay trailer showcasing Karen, the game’s protagonist, taking on endless waves enemies and bosses. Paris – December 6, 2019 – Microids, Pendulo Studios and YS Interactive are unveiling today the North American launch trailer for Blacksad: Under the Skin! Already available on Steam, the hunt for clues is about to begin on consoles as Blacksad: Under the Skin will release on December 10 on PlayStation 4, Xbox One and Nintendo Switch.

Let the launch trailer take you back to the 50s and discover some of the main characters as well as an introduction to the consequences of player’s choices during the investigation.

Game features

Investigation phases and deduction

As the story progresses, players will be able to explore the game areas (with more or less freedom depending on the situation), in order to find clues and question potential witnesses.  Blacksad must analyze the clues gathered to draw conclusions. This deduction system enables players to link up various elements (clues, observations, etc.) in order to come up with theories and open up new leads. If the association work matches up, the detective will come to a conclusion. If the deduction fails, the clues will remain available for a new attempt.

Multiple choice dialogue

Dialogue scenes offer players the chance to move the conversation in different directions. They will need to choose the options they think will be the most useful to their investigation. These choices will decide Blacksad’s development and relationships, as well as future opportunities. Players will have the option to remain silent during certain exchanges, directly affecting his profile, unique to each player.

Cat senses

Being a cat gives Blacksad several significant advantages. His sharp feline senses like his vision, smell and hearing will help analyze certain situations with more depth. By doing so, players will be able to identify previously inaccessible details.

Quick Time Events

QTEs can be related to various actions or action scenes and must be completed in order to progress through the game (all failed attempts will have to be replayed). Players will face two types of QTE: pressing a given button at the right time or filling a bar by repeatedly pressing a button.

The story

The 50s, New York City: Joe Dunn, owner of a boxing club, is found dead. Meanwhile, rising star Bobby Yale, due to take to the ring for the most important fight of his career, has mysteriously disappeared. Sonia Dunn, Joe’s daughter, takes over the gym and must deal with its financial woes. She hires private detective John Blacksad to investigate Yale’s disappearance. The highly anticipated boxing match of the year is drawing closer and the club’s finances would not survive a no show from Bobby Yale. During its investigation, John Blacksad will find himself swimming with sharks in a universe where corruption is everywhere.
