Single player twin stick risk-’em-up A Duel Hand Disaster: Trackher is out now on Nintendo Switch!
El Paso, Texas – June 10th, 2019 – As debuted today at the Kinda Funny Games Showcase, independent developer Ask an Enemy Studios has launched its split-screen single-player twin-stick risk-’em-up A Duel Hand Disaster: Trackher on the Nintendo Switch eShop today for $9.99.
A Duel Hand Disaster: Trackher is a twist on the classic shmup formula as players control two ships simultaneously. Destroy incoming enemies on the left side to earn points, while recovering resources on the right to multiply those points. The left side does not take damage. The right side does. It’s complicated and that’s the whole point. The devil is in the details. Should you want to survive with your score intact, you’ll have to train both sides of your brain!
Adding further intensity is the fact that players lose their score when they die. Should you want to rank on the leaderboard, you’ll have to push the eject button yourself. Fail and not only will you lose your score, you also risk the chance of wiping your leaderboard position as well. Playing till death is not an option.
A Duel Hand Disaster: Trackher has been in development for over four years and in that time has been praised by numerous gaming media. Paste Magazine called it “enormous fun”, Hardcore Gamer dubbed it “an awesome arcade shooter”, and IGN can be seen having a blast coming to grips with it at GDC 2016.
“A Duel Hand Disaster: Trackher, or ADHD for short, has been in development for nearly half a decade and there’s still nothing else out there like it,” said developer Jaycee Salinas. “Controlling two ships at once is already a madcap scramble, then the risk vs reward scoring system, wherein you don’t get a score unless you successfully extract, adds an even more insane layer of intensity. It’s somehow stressful and transfixing at the same time and the Switch is the perfect platform to zone out with it.”
About Ask an Enemy Studios

Its first title, A Duel Hand Disaster: Trackher, launched on Nintendo Switch in June 2019, and is coming to PlayStation 4, Xbox One, and leaving Steam Early Access. Its motto is “Gameplay first, ask questions later.”

In addition to showcasing the trailer, a model of one of Valfaris’ most devastating weapons, the aptly named Bringer of Mayhem, also made a cameo appearance on stage at the PC Gaming Show.

Metamorphosis Dev Diary #1: A Kafka-esque Puzzle Platformer
Warsaw, Poland – June 4th, 2019 – Ovid Works has revealed its first Dev Diary for Metamorphosis, a first-person puzzle platformer about a man mysteriously transformed into a little bug.
Metamorphosis drew much acclaim upon its reveal to the press at GDC a few weeks ago. Most notably, Gamespot included it in their roundup of indie games that shouldn’t be overlooked, and Game Informer called it one of the best indie games at the show.
Coming to PlayStation 4, Xbox One, Nintendo Switch, and PC, Metamorphosis is inspired by Franz Kafka’s seminal short story The Metamorphosis. Ovid Works’ video game reimagines salesman Gregor Samsa as he turns into a tiny bug and embarks on a quest to save himself and his friend Joseph, who has been arrested for reasons unknown.
In this Dev Diary, Ovid Works dives into their philosophy of making games that tell an interesting story, while still being fun to play.
“Franz Kafka was almost the first game designer. He was putting into his stories those labyrinths. And all of these things are possible to recreate today as a world which the player can experience,” said Game Director, Zaq Chojecki. “And by experiencing such complicated, impossible worlds, he arrives at the same questions and the same reflections as the characters of Franz Kafka.”
Metamorphosis places players on a perilous journey that’s as strange, twisted, and thoughtful as Kafka’s literary works. Set in 1920s Prague, players will have to leap, climb, and chart their path through a wide variety of settings from a micro perspective, including the human world, an underground world of insects, and a host of surreal environments.
