Horror Adventure Tokyo Dark -Remembrance- Spooks Nintendo Switch Today!

TOKYO – Nov. 7, 2019 – Sony Music Entertainment (Japan) publishing label UNTIES today releases Tokyo Dark -Remembrance-, the anime-style murder mystery merging visual novel and adventure features, on Nintendo Switch™. PlayStation 4™ sleuths will join the macabre investigation at a date to be announced.

The plot thickens with the release of -Remembrance-, which developers Cherrymochi and mebius. have rebuilt entirely in a new engine. Colorful animated sequences by Breath of the Wild, Xenoblade Chronicles X, and Hellsing Ultimate animation studio Graphinica bring to life the dark horror scenery of a crime-riddled Tokyo. Additional content and more endings for the branching narrative round out this ultimate edition of Tokyo Dark.

The disappearance of Detective Ito Ayami’s partner isn’t the only unsettling occurrence plaguing Japan’s capital city. Strange symbols and a mysterious masked figure have popped up all over its many districts. Ito must delve into the city’s seedy underbelly to uncover the truth behind the supernatural occurrences and find her friend before it is too late.

Ito’s actions and decisions are tracked by the S.P.I.N (Sanity, Professionalism, Investigation, Neurosis) system, which affects character interactions and available story paths. Playing by the rules might keep her in good standing with her fellow police officers and open up favors to aid the investigation, while often resorting to violence could irreparably turn citizens against her, closing paths further down the line.

The macabre tale will creep up on PlayStation 4 this year.

Tokyo Dark – Remembrance – expands the gripping story of the original Tokyo Dark with updated and additional content as well as new endings.

Detective Itō Ayami hasn’t had a full night’s sleep since the horrifying occurrences leading to her partner’s disappearance. Haunted by eerie images of a young girl and red marks painted all over town, she must fight the mysterious, dark power threatening her sanity on her mission to reunite with her lost colleague.

Every action impacts the storyline, thanks to the S.P.I.N. (Sanity, Professionalism, Investigation, Neurosis) system. Stay cool to gain Professionalism and help from coworkers. Drink on the job to cope with the ghastly images threatening Ayami’s Sanity. Stuck on a puzzle? Wandering around too much can raise the Neurosis stat. Everything Itō does can open new doors or cut her off from other options down the line, affecting the availability of more than 10 possible endings.

Tokyo Dark – Remembrance – features animated sequences from Graphnica, the studio responsible for scenes in Breath of the Wild, Xenoblade Chronicles X, Hellsing Ultimate and more. Accented by a sinister soundtrack, eye-catching graphics inspired by real locations in Tokyo, propelled by Japanese mythology as well as urban myths, and tempered by the cultural influences of an international development team, Tokyo Dark – Remembrance – presents a compelling story that’s hard to shake once it takes hold.

Tokyo Dark is an anime-style horror adventure game. The story follows Detective Itō across Tokyo, searching for the truth behind her partner’s strange disappearance. Featuring puzzles, stat management, and difficult decisions, Tokyo Dark puts the narrative in the hands of the player. Players’ decisions change Itō’s character, opening or locking options and leading to more than 10 different endings, including new ones added in this special edition.

History
In January 2015 Tokyo Dark was submitted to the Square Enix Collective where it achieved an incredible 94% rating by the Collective members and was later Greenlit on Steam. Following that, the game had a successful Kickstarter campaign in summer 2015, and it was later announced it would be published by the Square Enix Collective. Tokyo Dark released for PC on Steam 7 September 2017.
