Paris, October 28th 2021 – Microids is delighted to show for the very first time the artistic direction of Grendizer through two artworks and a tantalizing teaser. UFO Robot Grendizer will be released in 2023 on PlayStation 5, PlayStation 4, Xbox Series X|S, Xbox One, Nintendo Switch and PC.

Stéphane Longeard, CEO of Microids, is very enthusiastic about the development progress: “we are delighted to finally share the firsts screens from Grendizer. Endroad is a very talented studio and we are confident in their expertise to transcribe the universe created by Go Nagai in a great video game. We cannot wait to share more about the title’s gameplay!”

Grendizer is developed by the French development studio Endroad, made up of experienced developers formerly at Ubisoft or Amplitude Studios. Additionally, the renown art & creative director Laurent Cluzel will lend a hand in the production of the game. Alongside Laurent, Philippe “Golgoth71” Dessoly, Ocean Software veteran (where he started in 1989) and Grendizer’s official artist for five years, will also pitch in to support the creative efforts on the game’s art style.

“We have been working fervently on the Grendizer project, aiming at the highest quality to please the fans and the newcomers alike that didn’t get the chance to be introduced to Duke Fleed (Daisuke Umon in Japan) and his friends. This is such an abounding universe that deserves the most focused attention to detail. We are all fans of this IP we grew up with and we’re fully dedicated in providing players the game they’ve been dreaming about for decades. Based on the famous anime adapted from Go Nagai’s manga UFO Robo Grendizer, this new action game will grant the nostalgic gamers the chance to play as Duke Fleet and his great robot and enjoy epic adventures. The cult animated series was one of the first successful exports of Japanese animation around end of the 70’s. We all remember the iconic battles and the Grendizer’s weaponry used to defeat King Vega’s forces, launching attacks on Earth from its secret base hidden on the dark side of the moon. The award-winning game, Stilstand, is a haunting and darkly comedic interactive graphic novel following the grim yet hopeful journey of one woman trying to stay afloat in Copenhagen through a summer riddled with anxiety and loneliness.

Stilstand is a deeply personal project coming directly from Ida Hartmann’s existential crisis as she finished her degree. The author’s debut game is created in collaboration with Niila Games, a studio that strives to challenge and distort the boundaries of the game medium. On Nintendo Switch and Sony PS4, it is published by Nakana.io, a Warsaw-based label focused on meaningful games. Stilstand is supported by the Danish Film Institute and The Danish Art Foundation.

SANTA ANA, California, October 20, 2021 — Nicalis, Inc. today announced that Spectacular Sparky, a retro-inspired platformer/shooter game from developer FreakZone Games, is now available on Nintendo Switch, Steam and the Epic Games Store.

Like all the best white-gloved 1990s video-game heroes, Sparky is colorful, cheeky and adventurous, maybe even a little bit insane. A space-rabbit of unknown origin, he works as an intergalactic bounty hunter, tracking down cosmic criminals for fame and fortune. Sparky can dash through obstacles, shoot projectiles in any direction and even extend his jumps by flapping his long ears.

Spectacular Sparky offers 24 challenging levels across five different worlds, and each level ends with a bombastic boss battle.  Sparky gets to use powerful weapons like blasters, flamethrowers and homing missiles, and he occasionally rides on a variety of unique vehicles like a spaceship, a hang glider and a lava jet ski. It’s a loving, accurate homage to classic action games on 16-bit consoles, with just a few modern concessions like a widescreen aspect ratio and lots of hilarious voice-acted dialogue.

Hamburg, Germany, October 20th, 2021 – Mousetrap Games and Daedalic Entertainment invite you into the dusty basement of JARS, a strategic mix of tower defense and puzzle game with a distinct gothic flair.

JARS tells the story of young Victor, who is asked to get a jar of pickles from the cellar for his mother. After he discovers a mysterious sarcophagus, crawly creatures emerge from the other jars in the basement, and our protagonist has to fight them in order to protect his ominous find. In the strategic tower defense game, Victor makes use of minions and items to break all jars and defeat their inhabitants.

Finding the perfect approach by choosing the right minions at the right time, and combining them with items and other upgrades, is essential to ensuring Victor’s victory. He also has to find out why some pages are missing in a mysterious book, why Dracula hides in his basement, and if he can save the world – before he gets grounded by his mother.
