Link-a-Pix Christmas Demo Now Available For a Limited Time on Nintendo Switch!

Staffordshire, UK – Lightwood Games is adding a little sparkle to December gaming with a special Christmas-themed demo for Nintendo Switch.

A free trial version of Link-a-Pix Deluxe is available on the Nintendo eShop on Thursday December 12th, and can be downloaded for a limited time ahead of the game’s full release on January 2nd.

Link-a-Pix is a clue-linking puzzle, solved by painting lines between clues which have the same colour and number. The number shows the length of the line which will connect them.

The Christmas demo offers a preview with four seasonal pictures in different sizes.

Link-a-Pix Deluxe is Lightwood’s fifth game on Nintendo Switch to feature puzzles by Conceptis Ltd, the world’s leading supplier of logic puzzles.

It follows previous titles Pic-a-Pix Deluxe and Pic-a-Pix Pieces, which are both colour nonogram games; Block-a-Pix Deluxe, a block-painting picture puzzle; and Phil’s Epic Fill-a-Pix Adventure, a logic game that plays like cross between picross and minesweeper.

Link-a-Pix Deluxe contains 120 brand new full-colour puzzles and 120 unique – and more challenging – mono puzzles, all designed by Conceptis Ltd.

Puzzles previously released as Link-a-Pix Color on Nintendo 3DS family systems will be made available as add-on content, and Lightwood will support Link-a-Pix Deluxe throughout 2020 with new monthly puzzle packs.

Link-a-Pix Deluxe will be available to download on January 2nd, 2020 on the Nintendo eShop. Pre-orders are now open.

Free Puzzle-Filled Christmas Card From Lightwood Games!

Staffordshire, UK – Lightwood Games is proud to announce its first puzzle game on physical media – but it’s not what you think!

It’s a special puzzle-filled Christmas card, available exclusively on cardboard.

Lightwood’s husband-and-wife team, Chris and Katherine, are sharing their love of puzzles – and some Christmas cheer – by making this escape room-inspired challenge available free of charge.

To receive a copy in the mail, register by clicking here.

The card contains a number of connected challenges, including puzzles from Lightwood’s “Pix” and “POWGI” series of video games, which are available on Nintendo and PlayStation consoles.

It’s not just a simple code to crack or a hidden message to find. You’ll need to piece together several clues to achieve 100% completion.

The card has no specific instructions, but it will be obvious when you have solved it.  In case you get stuck, you can contact the developers for a hint.

The idea began after Chris designed a mysterious-looking card for Katherine last year.

“While it started with an encrypted message in a card, the quest involved tasks specific to one person, and some that required you to be in our home,” explains Chris. “For example, Katherine needed to set the smart lighting system to specific values to trigger a text message with the next clue.”

“It was awesome!” said Katherine. “I posted some of the puzzles on social media, but it wasn’t really possible for other people to take part. This year we’ve worked together to make a puzzle hunt that we can share with everyone.”

Lightwood Games is a specialist developer of puzzle games, with a catalogue spanning ten years and numerous platforms. Recent releases include picture logic puzzle Block-a-Pix Deluxe and unique word search variant Fifty Words by POWGI.

Tic-Tac-Letters by POWGI Arrives This Week on Nintendo Switch!

Staffordshire, UK – Lightwood Games is thrilled to announce the release of their latest puzzle game, Tic-Tac-Letters by POWGI.

The game is available on the PlayStation Store for PS4 and PS Vita today, and on the Nintendo eShop for Switch on Thursday, October 3rd. A demo for Switch is also available.

Tic-Tac-Letters is a single-player logic puzzle based on tic-tac-toe, but with a unique POWGI twist.

To begin, players will need to fill a grid with letters so that there are no more than two Xs and Os consecutive in a row or column. As the game progresses, different letters are used and the puzzles become larger and more challenging.

Unusually for the “by POWGI” series, this game does not require any knowledge of the English language to succeed. Puzzles are solved by pure logic, making them more similar to sudoku than a word search.

Tic-Tac-Letters by POWGI features the usual no-fluff approach, common to titles by Lightwood Games. It’s optimised to launch quickly to get you straight to the content and a help feature will point you towards the next move if you get stuck.

Cross-buy is included for PlayStation, so players can download the game on PS4 and Vita with one purchase. Players who complete the game will be rewarded with a platinum trophy.

Fifty Words by POWGI is a Colourful New Word Search Puzzle Coming to Switch!

Staffordshire, UK – Lightwood Games is thrilled to announce details of their latest word game, Fifty Words by POWGI.

Fifty Words is a brand new word search puzzle. This time there’s no grid, no wrong letters and no list of words to find. Each puzzle just contains 50 intertwined words on a subject.

As players discover the words, they paint them with a rainbow of vibrant highlights to create a unique piece of blended colour art.

As a less-challenging word search puzzle, the game is intended to be a relaxing experience of word exploration among a sea of colour. With a customisable palette, users can put their own stamp on the game and the end result of every puzzle is a piece of colour-blended art, unique to that player.

A free demo for Nintendo Switch is available on the Nintendo eShop from today, ahead of the full release on September 5th. The game will also be released on the PlayStation Store for PS4 and PS Vita on Tuesday, September 3rd.

Cross-buy is included for PlayStation, so players can download the game on PS4 and Vita with one purchase. Players who complete the game will be rewarded with a platinum trophy.

Wordsweeper by POWGI coming to
Nintendo Switch!

Staffordshire, UK – Lightwood Games is thrilled to announce the release of their latest word game, Wordsweeper by POWGI.

A free demo for Nintendo Switch is available on the Nintendo eShop from today, ahead of the full release on August 8th. The game will also be released on the PlayStation Store for PS4 and PS Vita on Tuesday, August 6th.

Wordsweeper is a crossword puzzle solved using logic and deduction. As the name suggests, it is inspired by the classic puzzle “minesweeper” but this new word puzzle is unique to POWGI.

Instead of defining words, the clues indicate a set of letters that must be placed in adjacent squares and the player must work out which letter goes where. Logic and reasoning combined with a knowledge of English vocabulary will allow them to deduce the solution.

Designed as a casual puzzler, intended to get your brain ticking in moments between more intense gaming sessions, Wordsweeper by POWGI follows Lightwood’s usual no-fluff approach to puzzle games. It’s optimised to launch quickly to get you straight to the content and will give you pointers if you get stuck.

Cross-buy is included for PlayStation, so players can download the game on PS4 and Vita with one purchase. Players who complete the game will be rewarded with a platinum trophy.

The game is a perfect portable puzzler with immersive touchscreen controls and, following Lightwood’s usual no-fluff approach to puzzle games, it is optimised to launch quickly and get straight to the content.

New Pic-a-Pix Pieces Demo For Nintendo Switch Now Available!

Staffordshire, UK – Lightwood Games has released a new playable demo of Pic-a-Pix Pieces for Nintendo Switch. It is available to download on the Nintendo eShop today!

Pic-a-Pix is a picture logic game, sometimes known as Picross, Nonogram or Hanjie, where whimsical pixel-art pictures are created by solving puzzles.

In Pic-a-Pix Pieces, large pictures have been split into a number of smaller pieces. Each piece is a puzzle grid, and by solving them all you’ll form a mosaic that reveals a spectacular final image.

The new demo contains two pictures, which will be fully revealed after solving 18 full-colour Pic-a-Pix puzzle pieces.

It replaces the previous Christmas-themed demo, which was available for a limited time during the game’s pre-order period in December.

Completionists need not worry, however. The puzzles from both the Christmas demo and this new demo are both available within the full version of Pic-a-Pix Pieces, in the Extra section!

The first monthly DLC is also now available, and can also be found in the Extra section. Two packs are available, each offering 48 more puzzles – forming two new large pictures – with a choice of 15×15 or 20×20 grids.

Lightwood Games will continue to support both Pic-a-Pix Pieces and Pic-a-Pix Deluxe throughout 2019, with new monthly DLC puzzle packs.

Pic-a-Pix Pieces is available to download now the Nintendo eShop.
