December 8th, 2022. A Magnum Opus 7 Years in the Making

After seven years of development, the Magnum Opus from solo developer Matthias Linda, Chained Echoes, a traditional, all encompassing JRPG, inspired by classics of the SNES and PSX era, is finally finished. Players will find themselves within the continent of Valandis, which, after centuries of war, is finally at peace. However, this world they are in is marked by possible conflict, and rumors that a weapon of mass destruction is an imminent danger. Peace is fragile, conflicts lasting for centuries just won’t disappear, a new war could break loose anytime soon… Can a group of strangers restore peace? Can the weapon be destroyed?

Chained Echoes will also receive a physical release in Summer 2023 and is now available for pre-order.

Exclusively distributed by First Press Games, it will receive premium physical editions for Nintendo Switch, PlayStation 4 and PC DVD, with different variants that vary in terms of included goodies and merch. Esoundsignal’s Original Soundtrack as a 2CD release is also on offer separately.

Lunistice, a 3D platformer created with simple but fun gameplay in mind, inspired by the PSX/SEGA Saturn era, developed by A Grumpy Fox, will be released on 10th November for PC and Nintendo Switch. To celebrate the announcement, we have prepared an impressively small GIF, confirming the date when Hana the Tanuki will visit your systems.

Originally dated for September, The Last of Us led to a delay. Developer A Grumpy Fox wanted to give the game a chance to succeed and moved his release date to further finetune Lunistice. Players will benefit from the extra two months of development, as two guest characters have made it into the game.

Run through seven different dreamscapes which are based on Hana’s memories, unlock bonus characters from the Toree Series and Holomento and try to get S-Ranks in every level.

Lunistice will be released on 10th November for Nintendo Switch and PC. The game will be available for 4.99$. A playable demo is currently available on Steam and will also be available on Nintendo Switch.

The Story Unfolds and Scene setting – The Challenge

Set in a sterile and futuristic world, you are soon thrust into an organic forest-like environment after leaving your spacecraft. In this strange unnerving environment the player will see three Ziggurats (pyramid buildings) and will be led into one, where your intuitive powers of logic and expertise will start. The first building looks clean, sterile and in very good condition, with strong tones of black and gold. Here the player will learn the basic mechanics, and will experiment with them until he will reach the top of Ziqqurat One. Outside night has now come, and more, new mechanics will be introduced. The next building will be decaying, and will comprise a combination of all the player has previously learned. He will then face two other environments, with different tones and feels, which will bring him to the end of the game. Throughout the game, the storyline will progressively grow, as in the beginning it is limited to pre-recorded messages, it will unfold into full conversations with multiple choices.
