Highly Anticipated Roguelike RPG Children of Morta Reveals Pricing and Stunning Box Art!

Warsaw, June 5, 2019 — Making its way to Xbox One, Nintendo Switch, PlayStation 4, and PC, Children of Morta has today received pricing across all platforms. Developed by Dead Mage and published by 11 bit studiosChildren of Morta will be available digitally for $21.99 USD and €21.99 later this summer. While knowing the price is nice, what’s nicer is the stunning box art for the game that has also been released today!

Children of Morta sets its story in a distant land but copes with themes closer to our daily lives that one would expect. It is a story of the simple emotions we all know so well — and value more than sometimes we dare to admit — love and hope, longing and uncertainty, ultimately loss and the sacrifices we are willing to make to save the ones we care the most for.

Embark on the adventure of an extraordinary family of heroes. With the Corruption spreading through the land, the guardians of Mount Morta have to stand up against an ancient evil. But… it’s not a story about saving the universe. It’s a story about a valiant family standing together while the world around them is being devoured by darkness.

Children of Morta will be available digitally on Xbox One, Nintendo Switch, PlayStation 4, and PC at 21.99 USD/EUR. The boxed editions from Merge Games will be released on Nintendo Switch, PlayStation 4 and PC (in Europe and Australia) alongside the digital releases.

11 bit studios’ Highly Anticipated ‘Children of Morta’ Moves to a 2019 Release!

December 13, 2018 – Warsaw, Poland — Dead Mage and 11 bit studios have collectively decided to postpone Children of Morta to 2019. Our goal is to deliver a mind-blowing, story-driven hack n’ slasher — and we’ll get there — but the journey is going to take a bit longer than expected:

“Having a solid amount of feedback after shows like PAX Prime, and knowing exactly the goal we need to reach, we have decided to move the release date of Children of Morta, on all platforms, to 2019”, says Producer, Marek Ziemak. “There is huge potential for this gem and we know how to fulfill it, so some things are already put in motion. I strongly believe in Mr. Miyamoto’s words about delaying a game to make sure it’s brilliant when it releases and nothing less. Also, and I believe this is important from the gaming community’s perspective, we are now developing Children of Morta for all four major platforms and there will be a simultaneous launch on all of them – Xbox One, PlayStation 4, Nintendo Switch and PC.”

The biggest and most time-consuming change is Children of Morta’s growth. The game is increasing significantly in size, as each of the three biomes the player can visit in the game will now have more levels and they’re larger overall. Another addition we’ve made is mini-bosses awaiting at the end of each level. The storyline praised in the previews is going to be written with a bolder pen, making the game’s world more strongly tied to the plot. All in all, there’s more work ahead for the devs but it’s for the good of the game.

Meanwhile, take a look at the evolving art style on new screenshots and have a great Winter Holidays!

11 bit studios Brings 4 of Their Amazing Titles to the Nintendo Switch!

August 20, 2018 — 11 bit studios, perhaps best known as the developer of the grim survival city-sim, Frostpunk and the award-winning antiwar title, This War of Mine have had a busy few years. Expanding into the world of publishing, 11 bit studios is also known for releasing Digital Sun Games’ RPG adventure gem, Moonlighter and adding onto their already impressive resume they now announce a rock-solid line-up of their titles coming to Nintendo’s massively successful Switch console. Four games, each from a different galaxy of the gaming universe, taking center stage on the Nintendo Switch;

  • This War of Mine is a gripping survival game inspired by real-life events, in which you do not play as an elite soldier but as a group of civilians merely trying to survive in a city under siege. Test your decision making skills and emotional resilience to the limits when This War of Mine launches on Nintendo Switch in November. Releasing as the Complete Edition, the game will contain every free expansion and paid DLC released so far as well as all the content to be released in the future. This War of Mine launches on Nintendo Switch in November in cooperation with Koch Media / Deep Silver.
  • Beat Cop is a retro, pixel art style adventure set in New York City and inspired by 80’s cop shows. You are Jack Kelly and you’ve been framed for murder. Now, as a regular beat cop you have to find out who set you up. Expect a thick crime story, a lot of black humor and many other seedy things you might find on the hardened streets of Brooklyn. Beat Cop launches on Nintendo Switch in Fall 2018.
  • Moonlighter, by Digital Sun Games tells a story of an adventurous shopkeeper with dreams of becoming a hero. In this action-RPG with rogue-lite elements, you’ll have to stay sharp to take care of business – not only with a sword but also quite literally, as you manage your own shop. Coming to Nintendo Switch this Fall.
  • In Children of Morta you hack and slash your way through endless hordes of enemies in this narrative-driven roguelike. Playable in either single player or co-op, experience what it means to be part of a family of heroes as they fight to defend their legacy and each other. Children of Morta comes to Nintendo Switch in early 2019.

This War of Mine and Beat Cop are being forged for the Nintendo Switch by the friendly team at Crunching Koalas. Warsaw-based, they’re excited to work alongside their friends at 11 bit studios whose offices are only a short 5 minute walk away! Moonlighter and Children of Morta are being switched to Switch by their respective devs teams. Retail distribution partner for This War of Mine is Koch Media / Deep Silver.
