Paris, November 24^th 2022 – Microids is thrilled to take you on a magical ride today with the trailer for My Universe – My Baby Dragon, developed by the studio It Matters Games (My Universe – Pet Clinic Cats & Dogs). The game is available today digitally on Nintendo Switch and the retail version of the game will be available on December 1^st, alongside the PlayStation 4 and PlayStation 5 digital versions.

As a new dragon care taker, you’ll be in charge of your very own nursery. Whatever its element (water, air, fire or earth) your baby dragon will need a lot of love and attention to grow and flourish. Gameplay is inspired by various games from the 16-bit era that will be apparent to many gamers but Intrepid Izzy has its own originality and branding. Merging together many favourite gameplay elements and challenges, it offers up a colourful feast of action and exploration! Unbelievably as the developer explained, ‘many themes, characters and enemies in the game were inspired by real life events. For example, meeting someone with an allergy to kiwifruit inspired me to design kiwifruit monsters. The various costumes that Izzy collects to gain special powers are also (loosely) based on real-world examples’.

IDs and Fluidity – HD Art

The characters in Intrepid Izzy are animated using custom-made software which took a lot of time and effort to develop, but gamers will note, it was well worth it. Intrepid Izzy contains thousands of frames of animation, which cannot feasibly be created any other way. Retaining certain characteristics of classic game graphics, evoking a sense of familiarity and/or nostalgia marks this game as a real labour of love.

Besides the above, there are 11 smaller levels which often provide a different gameplay experience, such as a boss fight, a time-limited mission or an introduction to new gameplay mechanics.

Rewards and winning challenges are all part of the experience and most notably, new costumes for Izzy that grant her special powers is high on the priority list. For example, the flying squirrel suit that allows her to glide on air currents. There are also heart fragments to increase Izzy’s maximum health points, maps to help her find stuff, keys that open doors to new areas, coins that she can spend on various upgrades, as well as the arcade games in town, and various quest-related items. 23 NOVEMBER, 2022 – Publisher Digerati and indie developer Conradical Games are happy to confirm the launch dates for the PlayStation and Nintendo Switch digital versions of The Outbound Ghost.

The phantom-based paper RPG will be available to download from 30th November on PS4 and PS5, and 1st December for Nintendo Switch. It’ll be priced $24.99 and be available with a 20% discount for a limited time. Xbox versions will follow shortly after (exact date TBC).

In addition to the digital versions, The Outbound Ghost PS4/PS5 and Nintendo Switch physical editions from Merge Games are available to pre-order now and scheduled to launch 2nd December.

Making its debut earlier this year on PC, The Outbound Ghost is a story-driven adventure that combines exploration, turn-based combat, and crafting. Set in the titular Outbound, a small town with a mysterious and tragic past, players must help the ghostly residents resolve their earthly burdens so they can find peace and ascend to the afterlife.

A series of free updates are going to be rolled out for The Outbound Ghost over the coming weeks and months that will bring additional content and enhancements. The updates will arrive on PC first, before also being released for console. The current schedule for the updates on PC is as follows:

The newest shoot ‘em up to sear its way into the forefront, DRAINUS, is ready to make an impact. DRAINUS is from Ladybug, a small independent and acclaimed Japan developer. DRAINUS is their first game based on an original IP and will be published by Strictly Limited Games in cooperation with WSS Playground and PLAYISM. Release will be digital and the physical boxed on Nintendo Switch will be published by Strictly Limited Games.

Gameplay is key and DRAINUS’ main draw is the mechanic of the titular spaceship ‘Drainus’, which allows it to absorb light energy attacks and then use the energy harvested for devastating counterattacks. Using these mechanics strategically is the key to clearing the game and performing well.

DRAINUS is clearly aiming to bring the Shoot ‘em Up genre to the next level with unusual twists to a classic space shooter to offer players a whole new shooter experience.

Lunistice, a 3D platformer created with simple & fun gameplay in mind, inspired by the PSX/SEGA Saturn era, developed by A Grumpy Fox, just landed on PC and Nintendo Switch after an interesting development phase. Prepare yourself to go on a journey with Hana in a good ‘ol 3D-Platformer with a true banger soundtrack.

Lunistice originally started as a challenge for developer A Grumpy Fox, who was, at that time, stuck in a creative crisis. The idea was to create a small game within the timeframe of 30 days – resulting in a complete escalation where development took more than one year. One year which not only helped overcoming the crisis but also one year which shaped an amazing experience.

Follow Hana on her journey through seven different dreams and explore a multitude of different dreamscapes created from her memories. Jump and run through an old shrine, a fancy water park, a world made out of food and more all while you try to beat your fastest times on your way to achieve the S-Rank on every stage.
