Mutant Mudds Super Challenge – First Gameplay Footage!

The Binding of Isaac: Rebirth is coming to the Nintendo Wii U & New 3DS platforms!

Finally, after years of doubt and uncertainty, The Binding of Isaac – in its newer Rebirth form – is officially heading to Wii U and New 3DS.

If you’re unfamiliar with The Binding of Isaac: Rebirth, this remake of the 2011 top-down 2D dungeon crawler throws you into the maniacal world of Isaac, who must traverse through his mothers basement to escape religious sacrifice. During your adventure, Isaac will encounter various monsters and bosses that he will have to slaughter. The Binding of Isaac: Rebirth features an additional 17 new “normal” bosses, plus 3 new “final” bosses (including Mega Satan). It also contains all content from the original Binding of Isaac and its expansion, Wrath of the Lamb, in addition to new items, rooms, characters, and enemies.

There was a lot of disbelief that Rebirth would not come out for Nintendo platforms, based on the original game getting rejected on 3DS back in 2012, which was due to its “questionable religious content.” When creator Edmund McMillen announced the ports to Wii U and New 3DS on April 1st, he revealed a version of the game that would be edited for Nintendo platforms. Thankfully, that was just a joke, Nintendo seems perfectly fine releasing the uncensored game, and The Binding of Isaac: Rebirth will launch on Wii U and New 3DS intact. Older versions of 3DS and 2DS will not be able to play, unfortunately.

No date was revealed, but expect The Binding of Isaac: Rebirth to hit the eShop soon.

Get ready for Mutant Mudds Super Challenge, coming to the Nintendo eShop this June!

Mutant Mudds Super Challenge was one of the Nindies shown off during today’s Nintendo Direct presentation. Previously announced through the magazine Nintendo Force, Mutant Mudds Super Challenge is a sequel to the fantastically retro Mutant Mudds from Renegade Kid.

Mutant Mudds Super Challenge will also feature cross-buy between 3DS and Wii U, and vice versa, giving you double the muddy goodness for the price of one. But wait, there’s more! Those who own the previous Mutant Mudds game receive a loyalty discount as well!

As the title of the game implies, the sequel is going to up the ante in difficulty, which you can see in the gameplay trailer above. Mutant Mudds Super Challenge will be released exclusively on the Nintendo eShop for both Wii U and 3DS this June 2015.

CEO Jonathan Meyer provided the following statement during a recent announcement:

We feel the story of psyscrolr serves itself better updated over time. A more episodic feel invites players to want to come back to the world, continue their save, and find more. An example are the letters strewn throughout certain levels of the game. There are more secrets we plan to add in a further update, as well as hidden mini-games added to the game to enhance replayability with leaderboards and Miiverse features planned.

Looks like Zelda U won’t be under our christmas trees this holiday season.

Eiji Aonuma announced a couple of days ago that The Legend of Zelda for Wii U won’t be ready for a 2015 release. The team have come up with some new ideas for the game and want to be able to put these into the game for us to experience.

As the team has experienced first-hand the freedom of exploration that hasn’t existed in any Zelda game to date, we have discovered several new possibilities for this game. As we have worked to turn these possibilities into reality, new ideas have continued to spring forth, and it now feels like we have the potential to create something that exceeds my own expectations.

Well, here’s hoping for a 2016 release!

Excave II, published by Bergsala Lightweight LLC, out April 2nd on the NA 3DS eShop!

Excave is getting a sequel and it is coming out soon.

Excave II: Wizard of the Underworld will be released on Thursday, April 2nd. The sequel will cost players double the amount of the first game as it will retail for $10.00 on the Nintendo 3DS eShop. The game which is a dungeon crawler with light RPG elements features the two returning protagonists.

Interestingly, the sequel is being published by Bergsala Lightweight LLC instead of Teyon who brought over the first game. This could explain the increase in price. The game is still developed by Japanese studio MECHANICAL ARMS.
