Tactical RPG The Last Spell Heralds the End of Humanity on PC/Mac in 2020, Switch Later!
Lille, France — August 6, 2019 — The Last Spell, the turn-based tactical RPG with roguelite elements from CCCP where hardened heroes defend humanity’s final bastion from hordes of blood-starved monstrosities, fights against the darkness on PC and Mac via Steam in 2020. A Nintendo Switch version is planned for a later date.
The Schools of Magic’s arcane arms race nearly resulted in the complete destruction of the world. This calamitous spell enveloped the land in a mist filled with hellish monsters. Everything and everyone touched by the mist was killed, driven mad, or transformed into abominations themselves. The only solution is to cast one last spell to utterly eradicate all magic from the realms.
To cast this final spell, those left alive must band together to protect magicians as they attempt to break seals protecting monstrous bosses. Prepare each day by building new defenses, setting traps, replacing any mages devoured by the beasts, and equipping weapons. The Last Spell’s class-less characters have a high degree of customizability — weapons determine their abilities, and each hero can equip two instruments of death.
By night, eradicate the onslaught of horrors with devastating area-of-effect attacks and spells before they can reach the magicians. Hundreds of enemies can swarm the heroes every night, so fight each battle like it’s the last. Fast-and-furious grid-based combat encourages party optimization and aggressive play instead of hunkering down and anticipating each move the demons make.
Pluck the very souls out of enemies by dealing mortal blows to them. Striking down multiple creatures in a single combo earns more souls. Beware, each character can die permanently. Upon death, Beings of Light and Darkness will exchange harvested souls for permanent boons that will help in the next attempt.
Witness the grim hopelessness of humanity through The Last Spell’s high-quality pixel art. An electronic soundtrack fusing heavy metal with dark synth punctuates the medieval post-apocalyptic fantasy horror atmosphere. Grab an axe, hurl a fireball, and save the world or die trying.
“We love tactical RPGs, but sometimes they get bogged down by playing the waiting game,” said Matthieu Richez, founder of CCCP Entertainment. “We designed the world of The Last Spell to thematically encourage desperate determination in the face of horrific odds.”
The Last Spell comes to PC and Mac via Steam 2020 with a Nintendo Switch version coming at a later date. For more information, please visit the official website.

Welcome to the Warm Embrace of The Church in the Darkness on Nintendo Switch!
Melbourne, Australia, August 2, 2019 — Fellow Traveller and Paranoid Productions are thrilled to announce their game of infiltrating cults, The Church in the Darkness, is now available for PC, Mac, Xbox One, PlayStation 4 and Nintendo Switch! Your nephew has run away to South America and joined the Collective Justice Mission. It is up to you to infiltrate their compound, learn the truth and save him before he is lost to the cult forever!
“With The Church in the Darkness, we wanted to make a game you could replay both for gameplay but also for story, so we use procedural generation to change up the story every time you play. The game’s cult leaders may have good intentions or may be all the way apocalyptic, it’s up to you to figure it out. This leads to multiple endings depending on the players gameplay choices and narrative choices.” – Richard Rouse III, Paranoid Productions Creative Director.
At launch, people investigating the cult will receive a 20% discount for one week to help find the truth behind the Collective Justice Mission. The discount is available for both the Standard and True Believer Special Editions; the former gets you a copy of The Church in the Darkness, while True Believers will receive the game, the Official Soundtrack and a set of special behind-the-scenes videos about the making of the game. The Standard Edition retails for $19.95 USD and the True Believer Special Edition retails for $29.95 USD. The True Believer Special Edition is only available for PC and can be purchased via Steam, Humble, GOG, and Itch.
Players are challenged to step into the shoes of ex-cop Vic as they infiltrate the South American compound of Freedom Town in a search of their nephew. Run by Rebecca and Isaac Walker, it’s up to the player to unearth their motivations, their plans, with the cult experience changing with every playthrough. Is the commune simply idealists looking to live in a socialist utopia, or is there something more sinister at hand?
It’s up to the player to sneak into the compound undetected, uncover the truth by finding and chatting with cult members, search cabins to unearth literature about the group, and finally locate Alex, the nephew.
The Church in the Darkness highlights the mystery surrounding cults, and how they are not always what they seem. There are multiple endings for each scenario and what ending you get will be influenced by the player’s stealthy or aggressive gameplay.

Solo: Islands of the Heart Pulls into the Dock on Consoles!
Thursday 1st August, 2019 – Manchester, England: Team Gotham and Merge Games are delighted to announce that Solo: Islands of the Heart, the colourful and thought-provoking puzzle experience, is now available on Nintendo Switch, PlayStation 4 and Xbox One!
Solo is a game about love. About love as fuel, the force that drives us.
It is a universal feeling, but each of us experiences it in a different way. Individually, it holds different meanings depending on a variety of factors such as culture, gender, sexuality or traumas. That’s why Solo explores this theme in an introspective way, to have the players identify and reflect on their own experiences.
Solo is a contemplative puzzler set on a gorgeous and surreal archipelago. Reflect on your loving relationships by exploring contemplative, dream-like islands.
- Reflect on love’s place in your life with a personal and introspective branching narrative.
- Combine blocks with different properties offering multiple solutions for most puzzles.
- Contemplate and explore a living world: take photos of the charming, colourful islands amidst tranquil tunes or play the guitar for cute creatures.
Nature and contemplation are also a huge part of Solo – you could feed the animals or just sit on a bench and take the time to think. After all, it’s up to you – Solo provides you with the opportunity to explore at your own pace.
The world is divided into archipelagos, and each archipelago is formed by small islands. Each island represents a unique puzzle the sailor will have to solve before getting to the Sleeping Totems and awakening them to answer a question about love and relationships. Using boxes, each with different properties and behaviours, the sailors can build their own paths to the Sleeping Totems on each island.
However, as is the case with love, most puzzles offer no unique solution.
Solo: Islands of the Heart released on Nintendo Switch, PlayStation 4 and Xbox One. The PlayStation 4 version released on the 30th July, the Xbox One version released on the 31st July, and the Nintendo Switch version on the 1st August. The game is priced at £14.99/ $19.99/ €19.99 and is also still available on PC via Steam.
