SNK 40th Anniversary Collection Shows Off Psycho Soldier & Athena!

The brilliant anthology of SNK classics in SNK 40th ANNIVERSARY COLLECTION arrives on Nintendo Switch November 13! Today, we’re excited to introduce SNK’s first traditional platform games, Athena and Psycho Soldier!

What is Athena?
Athena, one of SNK’s most iconic characters, makes her debut in the company’s first traditional platform game in 1986! Players walk in a side-view perspective, and jump, climb, and swim to reach new areas. Athena begins the game with just a red bikini, and gains armor and weapons along her journey. The game was notable for its branching paths. Players could complete the game without seeing all its content, and could even warp to different areas.

What is Psycho Soldier?
Athena’s sequel, to put it simply, arrived shortly after in 1987. The seal of darkness has been broken, and only these two heroes can bring peace back to the world. The star of Psycho Soldier is Athena Asamiya, a school girl who seems to be a direct descendant of the first Athena. She’s joined by Sie Kensou, who would go on to join the King of Fighters roster alongside Athena. The game is an automatic belt scroller with five lanes, in which Athena and Kensou smash bricks with weapons to find items and power up!

11 bit studios Brings 4 of Their Amazing Titles to the Nintendo Switch!

August 20, 2018 — 11 bit studios, perhaps best known as the developer of the grim survival city-sim, Frostpunk and the award-winning antiwar title, This War of Mine have had a busy few years. Expanding into the world of publishing, 11 bit studios is also known for releasing Digital Sun Games’ RPG adventure gem, Moonlighter and adding onto their already impressive resume they now announce a rock-solid line-up of their titles coming to Nintendo’s massively successful Switch console. Four games, each from a different galaxy of the gaming universe, taking center stage on the Nintendo Switch;

  • This War of Mine is a gripping survival game inspired by real-life events, in which you do not play as an elite soldier but as a group of civilians merely trying to survive in a city under siege. Test your decision making skills and emotional resilience to the limits when This War of Mine launches on Nintendo Switch in November. Releasing as the Complete Edition, the game will contain every free expansion and paid DLC released so far as well as all the content to be released in the future. This War of Mine launches on Nintendo Switch in November in cooperation with Koch Media / Deep Silver.
  • Beat Cop is a retro, pixel art style adventure set in New York City and inspired by 80’s cop shows. You are Jack Kelly and you’ve been framed for murder. Now, as a regular beat cop you have to find out who set you up. Expect a thick crime story, a lot of black humor and many other seedy things you might find on the hardened streets of Brooklyn. Beat Cop launches on Nintendo Switch in Fall 2018.
  • Moonlighter, by Digital Sun Games tells a story of an adventurous shopkeeper with dreams of becoming a hero. In this action-RPG with rogue-lite elements, you’ll have to stay sharp to take care of business – not only with a sword but also quite literally, as you manage your own shop. Coming to Nintendo Switch this Fall.
  • In Children of Morta you hack and slash your way through endless hordes of enemies in this narrative-driven roguelike. Playable in either single player or co-op, experience what it means to be part of a family of heroes as they fight to defend their legacy and each other. Children of Morta comes to Nintendo Switch in early 2019.

This War of Mine and Beat Cop are being forged for the Nintendo Switch by the friendly team at Crunching Koalas. Warsaw-based, they’re excited to work alongside their friends at 11 bit studios whose offices are only a short 5 minute walk away! Moonlighter and Children of Morta are being switched to Switch by their respective devs teams. Retail distribution partner for This War of Mine is Koch Media / Deep Silver.

Chiki-Chiki Boxy Racers Crosses the Finish Line Aug 30th on Nintendo Switch!

TOKYO – Aug. 20, 2018 – Chiki-Chiki Boxy Racers, the colorful slot car racing party game from Sony publishing label UNTIES and Pocket for up to eight players online or locally, brings all-ages fun speeding onto the Nintendo Switch Aug. 30.

Grab a friend or seven and race toward first place in one of Chiki-Chiki Boxy Racers’ 15 vibrant tracks spanning three distinct zones. Boost through tricky curves and pass up the competition online or locally. Chiki-Chiki Boxy Racers’ intuitive controls make it easy to pick up, but hard to put down.

The race for number one doesn’t always take place on the track. Chiki-Chiki Boxy Racers features four competitive battle modes that test driving skills in more creative ways. Zip across the arena to collect the most gold in Coins or crush the greatest number of boxes in Smash. Race to cover the arena with your color in Paint or play Goal, a game of soccer on wheels.

There’s plenty to be enjoyed by those wishing to drive solo. Master the battle maps alone before showing off in front of friends with practice mode. The game also features AI buddies for those that need some racing experience on the track.

Chiki-Chiki Boxy Racers is a fast-paced party through a charming wonderland of environments with cute, toybox-inspired cars. Joyful pop tunes and a bright voxel aesthetic make unlocking and discovering new cars, then tinkering with their colors, a great way to spend time with friends.

“Chiki-Chiki Boxy Racers makes you feel like a little kid all over again,” said John Davis, G&R Representative, UNTIES. “From the moment you hit start, it just has that playful wonder to it that takes you back to scooting race cars across the carpet as a kid. This time, though, it’s gathered around the TV with friends.”

Chiki-Chiki Boxy Racers will be available on Nintendo Switch for $9.99 USD and will support English, Japanese, French, Italian, German, Spanish, Simplified Chinese, and Traditional Chinese.
