London, UK, Thursday 16th August, 2018 – PQube and developer Joysteak are extremely delighted to announce the upcoming release of Songbird Symphony, an irresistible and heart-warming tale that has already picked up accolades aplenty, including the Judges’ Choice award at GameStart 2017 and the Best Audio prize at TpGS 2018.

Songbird Symphony tells the story of Birb, a young orphaned bird who, having been brought up by a family of Peacocks who discovered him when he was an abandoned egg, slowly starts to realise he’s somewhat different to the rest of his acquaintances. Setting out a journey of self-discovery, players take charge of Birb as he leaves the nest and heads out into a world bursting with life.

“Birb’s story is one of adventure and discovery, but one tied to the rhythm of the forest – quite literally,” says Tan Kang Soon, Producer and Artist at Joysteak. “We set out to make Songbird Symphony as endearing and frankly adorable as we could, but the focus on music-based play also adds a sense of depth that players might not initially be expecting.”

“You just don’t see all too many games like Songbird Symphony,” adds Amaria Larchet, Product Manager at PQube. “Ever since we first met Joysteak, we haven’t been able to get the game out of our heads – it sings the perfect tune for us here at PQube.”

Songbird Symphony will be launching on PlayStation 4, Nintendo Switch, and Steam in Spring 2019.

Neon-infused Speed-runner RAZED To Hit Nintendo Switch This October!

London, UK July 31st, 2018 – Having started out putting players through their paces in as a finalist of Edge Magazine’s ‘Get Into Games’ competition, PQube and developer Warpfish Games are excited to announce the upcoming release of lightning-fast speed-runner RAZED on PlayStation 4, Xbox One, Nintendo Switch and Steam this September and October.

RAZED is a game focused on speed, with the player charged with making it to the finish line in the quickest time possible, dancing and darting across dynamic levels littered with obstacles designed to take you down. Power boosting skills unlocked along the way can send you soaring – sometimes literally – with every second saved edging you closer to a triumphant run.

In short, RAZED’s rather manic mantra is go fast, or die trying.

“With RAZED, we’ve taken the spirit that fuelled some of the most popular speed-runners and fused it with some stunning, neon-charged visuals that tap into some of the best arcade games from the last few decades,” says John Thompson, Designer at Warpfish Games.

“I think it’s a perfect marriage. Combined with the music it creates a kinetic environment focused on the concept of running as fast as you possibly can. Anyone can get the idea behind RAZED, but only the best will master the game. It really is a case of survival of the quickest.”

RAZED features:

  • Non-stop escalation: Sprint through 60 dynamic levels spread across six unique worlds, each with a distinct visual style, unlockable abilities and pulse-pounding boss battles.

  • Chart your own course: Veer off the beaten path and carve your own way through levels to achieve seemingly impossible times and unlock the S ranks.

  • Online leaderboards and ghost data: Challenge the world via online leaderboards, and race against friends’ ghosts in a game of asynchronous one-upmanship.

  • Fuss-free speedrunning: Nobody wants to wait around while striving for perfection. Falling short of your target time? Simply jab the restart button to return to the start of the level without any loading times.

  • Secret challenge levels: Employ all your different skills and abilities to find RAZED’s toughest maps and tackle them head-on.

“I can truly say, once you see RAZED in full flow, you can’t keep your eyes off it,” adds Amaria Larchet, Product Manager at PQube. “It’s the kind of game we can imagine people watching someone play over their shoulder thinking ‘well, that looks straightforward enough’, before taking it on for themselves and finding out things aren’t quite so easy. It really is a head turner.”

RAZED will be available worldwide digitally on Steam and Xbox One on September 14th and on PlayStation 4 and Nintendo Switch on October 15th.

Abducted, Abandoned, & Alone: Escape Adventure STAY is Heading This Summer to Nintendo Switch!

PQube (London, UK) July 16th, 2018 – Having amassed praise and awards aplenty after its debut on Xbox One and PC earlier this year, PQube is excited to announce that pixel art thriller STAY will roll out on PlayStation 4 and Nintendo Switch this summer.

STAY follows the path of Quinn – a therapist who wakes up alone, locked in a strange room with nothing of note save for a computer hooked up to an internet chat room. Said chat room has one other member, however: You.

It’s up to you to try and help Quinn escape, making suggestions in real time that either guide Quinn to safety, or closer to his ultimate end. What would you do if a stranger’s fate rested in your fingertips? And how would you cope if every second could be the difference between life and death?

“STAY is a unique prospect, and one where the player can only influence Quinn rather than decide his every move,” says Michael Fisher, Product Manager at PQube. “It’s an approach that poses some interesting questions for the player. Indeed, it becomes quickly apparent that what Quinn does away from the PC – which is all monitored by CCTV – is as important to the mystery behind STAY as what he says when he’s at his keyboard. The game is also played out in real time, so every moment the player spends away from their console or PC is a moment Quinn is left to his own devices. Will he survive without you?”

Developed by Spanish indie studio Appnormals Team, STAY has amassed nominations at multiple different awards ceremonies for both the Xbox One and PC editions since launching earlier this year, including commendations for the game’s narrative and the accolade of ‘Best Original Idea’ at Gamelab Barcelona 2018.

“We’re excited to bring STAY to PlayStation 4 and Nintendo Switch having seen gamers really take to Quinn and his dark and dangerous world on Xbox One and PC,” adds Fisher. “With multiple different story branches and seven different endings, we think these new players will take to Quinn’s perilous situation with trepidation.”

STAY includes:

Real-time play – the clock never stops

STAY plays out in real-time, meaning that every minute spent away from the game is a minute Quinn is left alone. Drop out of conversations or leave Quinn to fend for himself for too long and there may be consequences to your actions.

Raise your empathy

Quinn is on edge, and every response matters. Prove yourself a compassionate ally and he’ll learn to trust you and share both his findings and deepest thoughts. Fail, and his emotions may work against you.

Interactive storytelling

Featuring 24 chapters, seven different endings, dozens of life-altering choices and entire webs of conversation, STAY is designed to be replayed multiple times. Explore myriad rooms and unearth hidden secrets in subsequent playthroughs to piece together the full story.

Uncover the truth

Webcams around the environment and on the computer enable you to watch and analyse Quinn’s reactions, mental state and actions while he is Away From Keyboard. Pick up on his lies, use that knowledge to your advantage and uncover the truth at the heart of STAY.

Solve mind-bending puzzles

Help Quinn get the better of the conundrums he encounters inside his prison by taking direct control of his actions during numerous puzzle sections.

STAY is ready to break out worldwide on PlayStation 4 and Nintendo Switch this Summer!
