Ittle Dew 2+ comes Nov 14th to Nintendo Switch!

SANTA ANA, Calif., October 31, 2017—Nicalis, Inc., the developer and publisher of Nintendo Switch hits like The Binding of Isaac: Afterbirth+Cave Story+ and Tiny Barbarian DX, is proud to announce its next great game, Ittle Dew 2+. The charming “puzzly adventure” will be available on November 14 as both a physical retail and digital release for the Switch.

Continuing the saga of sassy adventurer Ittle Dew and her deadpan sidekick (the flying fox named Tippsie), Ittle Dew 2+ is a sprawling action-adventure game that takes place entirely on a mysterious, faraway island. Left stranded on the shore after their raft breaks, Ittle and Tippsie explore the terrain in search of treasure, weapons, puzzle-solving tools and the eight scattered pieces of another raft that can allow them to escape the island.

“If you’re expecting a Zelda-inspired game like the original Ittle Dew, you’ll find that there are plenty of similarities,” says Nicalis president Tyrone Rodriguez. “But Ittle Dew 2+ offers so much more. It’s cuter, it’s funnier, the puzzles are more devious and there are secrets everywhere…in fact, the island is loaded with them!”

Ittle Dew 2+ will continue the tradition of added-value packaging that has made Nicalis games the most highly collectable properties in the Nintendo Switch library. The initial print run of physical retail copies will include the Game Card along with a full-color instruction booklet and a limited-edition map of the island. The map is printed on tear-resistant and weatherproof synthetic paper that has been specially formulated to endure the rigors of the island’s hazards and unpredictable storm patterns.

Developed by Ludosity AB with Nicalis, Inc., Ittle Dew 2+ will be available for Nintendo Switch on November 14 as both a physical retail release (in North America) and a digital download from the Nintendo eShop (in both North America and Europe). Suggested retail price is $29.99 (NA) or 29,99€ (EU). The game has been rated E10+ by the ESRB.

The new game offers a twist on the acclaimed Fire Emblem series by uniting fan-favourite characters from Fire Emblem history to participate in over-the-top battles focused on real-time, tactical action rather than turn-based strategy.

Fire Emblem Warriors offers action-filled combat through an epic campaign starring more than 20 playable warriors, including two new characters, Lianna and Rowan, battling alongside beloved heroes like Marth, Lyn, Xander, Corrin and Chrom. Fans who want to get even more out of the game can download the free DLC Japanese voice pack and free software update on launch day, as well as purchase upcoming DLC.

“Whether you are a super fan of the Fire Emblem franchise, new to the series or played and loved the previously released Hyrule Warriors game, Fire Emblem Warriors offers a fantastic adventure filled with great gameplay,” said Pierre-Paul Trepanier, Nintendo of Canada’s General Manager and Senior Director. “The action-filled game is another solid addition to the Nintendo Switch and Nintendo 3DS lineups.”

At midnight ET on Oct. 20, both the free DLC Japanese voice pack and a free software update will go live. The DLC voice pack adds the ability to experience the game with Japanese voice audio and English subtitles. The free software update adds battle results to the game’s History mode and a new feature for sorting in-game weapons.

Starting in December, a series of three paid DLC packs will also release for the game. The first DLC pack launches in December, the second in February and the third in March, with each pack adding three new playable characters, three new History scenarios, new costumes, new weapons and new support conversations inspired by Fire Emblem FatesFire Emblem: Shadow Dragon and Fire Emblem Awakening, respectively. Each DLC pack will cost $11.59, but a Season Pass can be purchased starting on Oct. 20 for $25.79. The Season Pass includes all three DLC packs, which become available as they release, as well as a bonus bridal costume for Lucina that can only be obtained by purchasing the Season Pass.

Fire Emblem Warriors launches for Nintendo Switch on Oct. 20 at a suggested retail price of $79.99. A special edition will launch exclusively for the Nintendo Switch system on the same day at a suggested retail price of $99.99. The special edition includes the game, a premium character-card set with a slip case, a double-sided poster and a three-CD music set. The game also will launch on Oct. 20 for New Nintendo 3DS, New Nintendo 3DS XL and New Nintendo 2DS XL systems at a suggested retail price of $49.99. (This version of the game is only playable in 2D.)

Also launching on Oct. 20 are two new amiibo figures based on popular characters Tiki and Chrom from the Fire Emblem series. (Each figure is sold separately at a suggested retail price of $15.99.) These, along with other compatible Fire Emblem themed amiibo figures, including Marth, Ike, Robin and Lucina, grant players weapons or in-game materials when tapped. All other available amiibo figures are compatible as well. Up to five different compatible amiibo figures can each be tapped once per day.

Knight Terrors awaken October 24 on Nintendo Switch!

SANTA ANA, Calif., October 11, 2017—Nicalis, Inc. continues its strong support of the Nintendo Switch console with the imminent release of its scariest game yet, Knight Terrors, an all-new horror-themed arcade-style side-scroller. Just in time for tricks or treats, Knight Terrors will be available for download from the Nintendo eShop in both North America and Europe on October 24.

Knight Terrors depicts the horrifying adventures of a mysterious suit of armor known only as “The Knight.” Armed with a mighty sword and equipped with blood-red wings that allow flight, the Knight desperately races through the countryside in the darkest of the night, never stopping for any respite or consideration. He must face and vanquish a never-ending onslaught of bloodthirsty ghouls, flaming skulls and unspeakable horrors while jumping over spiked pits and flying through small gaps. If he takes three hits or allows three enemies to pass, it’s “Game Over.”

Knight Terrors goes straight for the jugular, engaging players immediately with simple two-button controls, retina-searing sprite graphics and frantic neo-classical chiptunes. Special effects like screen shaking and time stopping magnify the impact of every enemy interaction. Once you’re hooked, the game keeps pulling you back in with earned power-ups, multiple unlockable game modes and high score tracking. What’s more, the procedurally generated levels ensure unlimited replayability—it’s a different game each and every time you play.

Developed by FreakZone Games and Nicalis, Knight Terrors will be available for download from the Nintendo Switch eShop in both North America and Europe on October 24.

Tiny Barbarian DX now available on Nintendo Switch!

SANTA ANA, Calif., October 10, 2017—Nicalis Inc. (publisher and developer of the Switch hits The Binding of Isaac: Afterbirth+ and Cave Story+) is proud to announce the official release of Tiny Barbarian DX, the company’s latest retro-inspired neo-classic for Nintendo Switch. The game is available now for $29.99 as a physical game card in North America or as a digital download from the Nintendo eShop in both North America and Europe.

A tour de force of 2D platform-game excellence, Tiny Barbarian DX uses pixel art, chiptunes and time-honored gameplay mechanics to tell an incredible story in four exciting chapters. The protagonist is a savage swordsman in search of treasure, a hearty flagon of mead and the warmth of a fair maiden by the fireside. He may be tiny in relation to the gigantic boss characters he encounters or the epic scale of the game’s ultra-widescreen presentation, but there’s nothing tiny about his prowess, his ambition or his heart!

“If the Barbarian isn’t your favorite archetype already, it will be after playing this game.” says designer Michael Stearns of developer StarQuail Games. A huge fan of sword-and-sorcery pulp fiction and 16-bit-era video games, Stearns prefers to let his creation speak for itself. “But since it can’t talk,” he volunteers, “I’ll just tell you: Tiny Barbarian DX is the only game that matters this year.”

First run physical retail copies of Tiny Barbarian DX will also contain a deluxe full-color instruction manual and a branded microfiber pouch with a chibi Tiny Barbarian PVC keychain inside. The packaging artwork was created by legendary illustrator Susumu Matsushita, best known as the cover artist for hundreds of issues of Japan’s weekly video-game magazine Famitsu.

Developed by StarQuail Games in collaboration with Nicalis Inc., Tiny Barbarian DX is available now on Nintendo Switch and Steam for $29.99. The digital version is also available now in Europe for 29,99€ (£26.99 in the UK).

The Flame in the Flood floats onto Nintendo Switch Oct 12th!

Stardew Valley sows it’s seeds Oct 5th on Nintendo Switch!

Stardew Valley will come to the Nintendo Switch on October 5th, 2017

I’m very happy to see Stardew come to a Nintendo console… I grew up on Nintendo, after all! This will not only be the first time Stardew Valley appears on a Nintendo platform, but also the first time Stardew will be on a portable system.

The Switch version will be priced at $14.99 USD.

I would like to give a big shout out to Sickhead Games, who worked very hard to develop this port. They did a great job, as always, and deserve all the credit! I’d also like to thank my publisher Chucklefish for coordinating everything.

I look forward to hearing about your experience with Stardew Valley “on the go” this Thursday!
