BRISBANE, QLD – Oct. 15, 2018 – Hand of Fate 2, the acclaimed action role-playing game from Defiant Development, expands today with The Servant and The Beast downloadable content and the “Combat Reforged” update. Available now for PlayStation 4, Xbox One, PC, Mac, and Linux, the DLC and free update will also be released soon on Nintendo Switch.

The Servant and the Beast invites players to return to the Dealer’s table once again. Enjoy a brand-new campaign in the Game of Life and Death that sees our hero strike a bargain with a monstrous entity who helps them escape from fighting pits in exchange for blood.

This character, Veles the Shadow Beast, is also included as a companion who can accompany players into combat and vanquish downed foes. Veles also has more dark and terrible powers, along with a vengeful quest chain filled with more encounters to enjoy and gear to unlock.

Arriving in tandem the new content is the free “Combat Reforged” update, which dramatically overhauls how battles play out in Hand of Fate 2 with a myriad of enhanced fighting mechanics. It also rebalances enemies and equipment and contains other improvements that make this the best time to play the game whether it’s for the first time or a repeat playthrough.

Hand of Fate 2’s previous DLC, Outlands and Outsiders, is now also available on PlayStation 4 and Xbox One. Released earlier this year on PC, the new add-on features a story about altering the past, a new goblin companion with a unique quest line, and more cards to acquire.

The Servant and the Beast and Outlands and Outsiders are on sale for $6.99 / €5.99 / £4.99 / A$8.95 apiece on the PlayStation Store, Microsoft Store, and Steam, and GOG.com. The former currently is also available at a 10% introductory discount via Steam, where the base game is also temporarily on offer for 25% off its base price during the same period.

Hand of Fate 2 supports English, French, Italian, German, Spanish, Brazilian Portuguese, Russian, Hungarian, Ukrainian, Japanese, Korean, and Simplified Chinese language options.

Sit down at the Dealer’s table and get dealt into the “Game of Life and Death,” where magical decks of collectable cards are shuffled and laid out into dungeons, ready to explore. Each card offers perilous exploration, high-risk high-reward minigames, as well as Dungeons and Dragons-style storytelling and decision making. When a card calls for battle the tabletop board is left behind, bringing the cards to life in action-packed sequences that play out in third-person hack-and-slash combat.

The award-winning follow-up to the original Hand of Fate, which has been downloaded more than 2.5 million times since its release in 2015, introduces a number of enhancements. Alongside a new story, the sequel features invaluable companion characters that provide aide in and out of combat along with their own storylines, a much-improved combat system, new tabletop minigames, and an overworld map to explore the narrative in new and exciting ways.

The Nintendo Switch version comes packed with all the DLC released for its PC counterpart between the game’s November 2018 launch and April 2019. More add-ons are on the way.

BRISBANE, QUEENSLAND – July 9, 2018 – Hand of Fate 2, the acclaimed action RPG from Defiant Development, will deal out a Nintendo Switch™ release on July 17, 2018.

Collect cards and build a customizable deck of equipment, enemies, encounters, loot, and surprises that will be shuffled in with the Dealer’s own challenges. Once combined, cards are laid out into a dungeon floor for players to navigate. Each card presents obstacles to overcome, including action-packed hack-and-slash combat, precarious exploration, high-risk high-reward minigames as well as Dungeons and Dragons-style storytelling and decision making.

The original Hand of Fate has been downloaded more than 2.5 million times since its debut in 2015. The award-winning sequel pits a brand-new hero against the series’ enigmatic antagonist, the Dealer, as he seeks revenge following his dramatic defeat at the climax of the first game.

The sequel sports a variety of upgrades over the original title, such as an overworld map where each location presents new challenges, new tabletop minigames, companions (including the Dealer himself) with unique side-quests that provide assistance both in battle and perks outside, more robust combat, a deeper story, and an ever-growing supply of new content. The Nintendo Switch™ version will also include all the DLC add-ons that have appeared in the PC release from its November launch through April, with more coming later post-launch.
