New YO-KAI WATCH Nintendo 2DS Bundle Hits Stores on November 6

Nintendo has created an amazing Nintendo 2DS bundle to celebrate the launch of the YO-KAI WATCH game, which is produced by Japanese gaming company LEVEL-5 and has sold over 8 million in Japan alone. Starting November 6, people can buy a Nintendo 2DS system that comes with a pre-installed version of YO-KAI WATCH, all for a suggested retail price of just $129.99! Nintendo 2DS plays all compatible Nintendo 3DS and Nintendo DS games in 2D. The system is designed to give first-time players an accessible entry point into the exciting world of Nintendo hand-held video games, and YO-KAI WATCH makes for a great pairing.

YO-KAI WATCH features hundreds of sometimes cute, sometimes spooky and usually mischievous Yo-kai that inhabit our world. Players must use their Yo-kai Watch to find Yo-kai, befriend them, and turn them into a team to battle other Yo-kai. VANCOUVER, B.C., October 14, 2015 – What’s warm and fuzzy all over, but will keep you glued to the edge of your seat? None other than the Yoshi’s Woolly World game, launching exclusively for Wii U on October 16. In his new adventure, a yarn-ified Yoshi must explore a sewing basket’s worth of beautifully handcrafted stages created out of yarn, buttons and various fabrics to unravel secrets and tie up enemies. But don’t be fooled by the game’s cuddly appearance: While players will find it intuitive to pick up and play, finding all the game’s many collectibles and conquering its numerous challenges will challenge even veteran players. Players who want to share the fun can team up with a friend to take on the adventure together in local multiplayer for the first time in a game starring Yoshi. The game also offers creative amiibo support for the new Yarn Yoshi amiibo figures and even compatible classic figures from the Super Smash Bros.and Super Mario series.

Each stage in Yoshi’s Woolly World looks stunning and overflows with lovingly crafted details, challenges and hidden secrets. By tossing balls of yarn in multiple directions, Yoshi can tie up enemies, knit platforms and reveal helpful items. While making it to the end of the stage is a challenge unto itself, each level in the game is packed with fun collectibles just waiting to be found. Some might be hiding behind a wall that can only be revealed by pulling on a loose string, while locating others might involve a little creative thinking to solve an environmental puzzle. Bringing along a friend in the game’s fun co-op mode makes discovering all these secrets even more satisfying. (Additional accessories are required for multiplayer mode and are sold separately.)

For the first time in a Yoshi game, two players can play through the entire story together in local multiplayer, with each player controlling his or her own yarn Yoshi. By gobbling up their allies, players can turn the other yarn Yoshi into a ball to toss him to hard-to-reach areas. This is great when searching for collectibles and hidden areas … but also fun for people who just want to cause a little harmless mayhem. At the end of each stage, each player’s score is tallied to see who emerged victorious. It’s up to players to decide if they want to cooperate or take a more competitive approach to determining who can be the best in each stage.

New Yarn Yoshi amiibo figures made of real yarn in green, pink and light blue launch on October 16, the same day as the game. The green Yarn Yoshi amiibo can be purchased as part of a bundle that includes the game and amiibo at a suggested retail price of $79.99. The pink and light-blue Yarn Yoshi amiibo figures can be purchased individually at a suggested retail price of $19.99. A green Mega Yarn Yoshi amiibo will also launch in limited supplies on October 16 exclusively at Toys R’Us at a suggested retail price of $59.99. All four of these snuggly amiibo figures can be tapped into the game to activate Double Yoshi in single-player mode. Double Yoshi creates a second Yoshi character that can be used to help collect items and overcome level challenges. Yoshi’s look can also be altered by tapping one of dozens of compatible classic amiibo figures in the Super Smash Bros., Splatoon and Super Mario series of amiibo. By doing this, players can unlock patterns that cannot otherwise be unlocked in the game.

Yoshi’s Woolly World launches in stores and the Nintendo eShop on Wii U on October 16 at a suggested retail price of $64.99. Windows and Mac versions of HRM are coming out next week on Oct 15 on Steam, GOG,Humble Store, and right here on this site! But looks like our North American Wii U version will be delayed a week or so – we’ll post an updated date here as soon as we get it. It’s totally our fault for submitting a little late, we just tried to fill the Nintendo version with too many mushrooms!

Release Date Change

November 3rd for North America, October 30th for Europe

The final few steps of the Plague of Shadows content took a little longer than expected, but it was important to us that this update to be on the disc/cart right out of the box! Unfortunately that meant we had to push back the date just a little a bit. Luckily, all of the teams throughout the various console manufacturing steps have been really helpful in reducing this knock-on delay as much as possible.

That robot’s name is Chibi-Robo, and he’s the star of the energetic new game Chibi-Robo! Zip Lash, launching exclusively for the Nintendo 3DS family of systems on October 9. Chibi-Robo might be small in size, but his adventuring skills are as big as the most intrepid explorers! Using his plug and cord, Chibi-Robo can whip, grapple and swing his way through a huge side-scrolling platformer filled with dangerous enemies and clever environmental puzzles. By scanning the Chibi-Robo amiibo figure that is included in the special bundle, players can access bonus features like the ability to power up to Super Chibi-Robo, increasing Chibi-Robo’s speed and watts and allowing him to travel for longer distances without having to charge up.

Chibi-Robo! Zip Lash takes the much-loved Chibi-Robo series in a new direction. While previous games focused on completing chores in a third-person 3D environment, this new Nintendo 3DS game is a classic side-scrolling adventure with a strong focus on discovery and exploration. In the game, Chibi-Robo travels through a variety of action-packed environments. Using his signature plug and cord, he can whip enemies, swing over chasms, ricochet shots and grapple to scale walls. By collecting boost balls, his cord can be extended, allowing Chibi-Robo to access previously out-of-reach areas and search for a variety of different collectibles, including many surprising real-world snacks. The game is overflowing with tons of collectibles to find, bosses to battle and hidden areas to discover.

In addition to activating Super Chibi-Robo, players can use a Toy Capsule Machine by scanning the Chibi-Robo amiibo to the New Nintendo 3DS system or Nintendo 3DS, Nintendo 3DS XL or Nintendo 2DS systems using the Nintendo 3DS NFC Reader/Writer accessory (sold separately). This fun machine, located in the Chibi-House, can only be accessed using the amiibo figure and unlocks delightful items like collectible figures and bonus stages. Players can even level up the Chibi-Robo amiibo itself by recording in-game score data. The higher the level of the amiibo, the more times the player can become Super Chibi-Robo each day during game play and the better chance the player will receive rare items from the Toy Capsule Machine.
