Criminal Warfare Arrives on Nintendo Switch in 2020!

AALBORG, Denmark — January 17, 2020 — Kingpin: Reloaded, the remastered, enhanced version of the crime-themed first-person shooter developed and published by 3D Realms and Interplay, recruits new gang members on Nintendo Switch, PlayStation 4, Xbox One and PC later this year.

In a stylized noir art deco gangland that never was, the Kingpin rules above all else with a bloody fist. When his lieutenant Nikki Blanco leaves a no-name Thug battered and broken, the upstart criminal rises from a puddle of blood, lead pipe in hand and revenge in mind.

Kingpin: Reloaded brings new life to the Quake II engine classic. 4K resolution, ultrawide support, and improved graphics in Enhanced mode enable the beautifully-depicted metropolitan nightmare shine. Controller support makes the game more accessible for anyone who wants to explore the depths of Kingpin’s depravity. Overall improvements like new quest and conversation systems make Reloaded even better than the original.

Stalk lamp-lit streets and take down rival gangs to let the Kingpin know his end is nigh. Kingpin’s immersive sim elements allow the Thug to recruit other gangsters with a conversation system. Increase the Thug’s influence through multiple hub-based missions. Run with the gang on a violent warpath with upgradeable weapons including Tommy guns, bazookas, and more. Location-based damage leads to bloody, thrilling battles: kneecap, maim, or go for the head.

If that sounds too extreme, try No Violence mode. However, the “colorful” language proudly used by Kingpin’s gangsters remains. Lean even further into the era and start fragging in Gang Bang mode’s old-school multiplayer.

Kingpin: Reloaded will debut at PAX South this weekend at the 3D Realms booth.

“Kingpin doesn’t get the recognition it deserves, due to unfortunately releasing in an era when games were blamed for societal problems,” said Frederik Schreiber, founder of 3D Realms. “We have the privilege of giving it a second chance for people who never heard of it, and sprucing it up for diehard fans yearning to go back to a life of (simulated!) crime.”

Kingpin: Reloaded will be available in English on Nintendo Switch, PlayStation 4, Xbox One and PC in 2020.

Nom Nom Apocalypse Cooks Up a Monster Mash on Nintendo Switch Later This Year!

MELBOURNE – 14 Jan. 2020 – Nom Nom Apocalypse, the top-down roguelite shooter set in a post-apocalyptic city plagued by mutant food monstrosities, serves up a delicious dose of arcade action Thursday, Feb. 13, 2020 on Steam for PC, with Xbox One and Nintendo Switch™ releases planned for later in the year.

As mutant monsters from the grocery shelves descend upon the city, humanity bakes a last-ditch bid to save the world. Suit up as one of many trigger-happy chefs with character-specific powers and prepare for a showdown with ferocious food in this love letter to classic monster movies.

Survive the foodpocalypse with an arsenal of over 30 culinary weapons, like the rapid-fire Ketchup Squirter, shotgunning Mustard Blaster, and as-seen-on-TV Fork Crossbow. Master twin-stick controls as cooks run-and-gun their way through hand-crafted levels with spicy procedural surprises like greasy oil slicks, sticky candy puddles, traps, and other hazards.

Defend the homefront against a host of mutant munchies by bringing along a hungry friend in couch co-op, or recruit allies from afar with Steam Remote Play Together. Mix and match 45 game-changing perks like Iron Aprons, flame-trailing dodgerolls, and kill streak bonuses to complement abilities like giant rolling pins and bubble gum shields. Wage war against surprise mini-bosses and fast-moving enemy hordes. The longer chefs survive, the more frantic the feast becomes.

Josh Sacco of Deadleaf Games brings years of experience from beloved Dreamworks game titles to this homage to kaiju films and creature features of the ‘50s. Enormous bosses emerge with Hollywood flair to epic theatrical tunes. From towering breakfast skillets with fangs and bacon arms to sentient sugar-coated nightmares, Nom Nom Apocalypse pops off the screen with all the bombast and terror of its forebears.

“There’s an earnest creativity behind classic monster movies I find truly inspiring,” said Josh Sacco, owner, Deadleaf Games. “For my first independent game, I wanted to channel this campy history with creepy yet cute monsters and eye-popping art, but these dressings bely a tough-as-nails arcade shooter demanding focus, precision, and perseverance.”

Nom Nom Apocalypse will launch worldwide on Steam for PC on Feb. 13, 2020, with Xbox One and Nintendo Switch releases planned for 2020. This chaotic five-courser will support English, Spanish, Russian, Simplified Chinese, and Korean localizations.

Witness the Price of Victory in SEGA AGES Fantasy Zone and Shinobi!

IRVINE, Calif. – January 9, 2020 – During the great arcade boon of the 1980s, two games stood apart from the rest of the pack – Shinobi and Fantasy Zone, the next set of games being added to the SEGA AGES line-up for the Nintendo Switch™ on January 23, 2020!

The challenging side-scrolling action title Shinobi strikes back with an AGES mode that gives a white-robed Musashi extra health and damage, and an added Melee button that lets you dispatch enemies up close and personal. And if the hordes of ZEED are proving too much of a test, difficulty and stage select options have been implemented, along with a reverse time feature.

Long before Sonic, there was an adorable sentient ship named Opa-Opa, the star of SEGA AGES Fantasy Zone! This update to the vibrant arcade hit includes a helpful Coin Stock assist feature for those not as well versed in shooters, a Time Attack mode perfect for speedrunners, extra bosses, and even the option to play as Opa-Opa’s brother, Upa-Upa!

You can also expect the usual SEGA AGES accouterments such as replays, online leaderboards, and a host of other options to make these the definitive versions you can play on the go!

About Shinobi

Ninjutsu master Joe Musashi returns in this classic side-scrolling platformer. He has been sent on a mission to single-handedly find and rescue all the children of the Oboro clan who have been kidnapped by a criminal syndicate known as ZEED. Utilize your sharp sword, shurikens, throwing knives, and even magic to defeat the enemy and free the hostages.

About Fantasy Zone

A pioneer of the “cute ’em up” genre, Fantasy Zone tells a surprisingly bleak tale about the mighty space warrior Opa-Opa’s journey for revenge in a pastel-colored world. Defeat enemies to collect coins and power up Opa-Opa in order to rescue the world of Fantasy Zone in this exciting classic!

Shinobi and Fantasy Zone will be available individually on the Nintendo Switch eShop in the Americas and Europe on January 23, 2020, for $7.99 (with commensurate European pricing).

Speaking Simulator Begins Hilarious Quest for World Domination January 30th!

BRISBANE, AUSTRALIA – January 8, 2020 – Speaking Simulator, the hilarious game about an android struggling to infiltrate human society, initiates its plan for world domination on Nintendo Switch™ January 30, launching simultaneously alongside the previously announced PC and Mac versions coming to Steam.

At the behest of an adorably malevolent but incredibly inept AI, venture forth into the human world as a robot built to live among them. Customize the android’s appearance, then utilize the latest in humanoid mouth technology to assimilate and ascend. How hard can talking to people be, anyway? Robots do not have social anxiety and existential dread…right?

Start off simple with first dates and job interviews, but as the android further ingrains itself into society, survive public speaking nightmares like wedding toasts and eulogies. Take too long between words or misplace the tongue and the robot will get nervous, causing its face to explode. Humans tend to find this suspicious. It’s hard to blend in when an android’s piston-powered tongue knocks out its teeth.

Simultaneously flail the tongue and maneuver lips with tricky controls to simulate human speech. Speaking Simulator utilizes the most realistic gibberish system in all of gaming, created with real linguistic theory. One hand controls tongue placement, requiring quick presses on red buttons inside the mouth. The other hand elongates or purses the lips to form words. PC players can use webcams to control the android’s mouth movements.

Chase a high score in each level by sounding like a natural speaker. Unlock new upgrades adding layers of difficulty and increasing the score threshold. Use Socio-Optic Dynamics to make just the right amount of eye contact and Expressive Facial Pistons for some good ol’ human eyebrow wiggling. When all that stress is too much, blow off steam at a club in Self Expression Mode, where humans and robots can dance the night away.

“Words are hard, and a lot of us who are unquestionably human take that for granted,” said Jed Dawson, co-founder at Affable Games. “When we started making Speaking Simulator we realized the concept of pushing words out of mouth-holes is actually incredibly funny and gross, and therefore ripe for a comedy game.”

Speaking Simulator will be available in English, French, Italian, German, Spanish, and Traditional and Simplified Chinese January 30 on Nintendo Switch and PC/Mac via Steam.
