Staffordshire, UK – Lightwood Games is thrilled to announce the release of their latest word game, Wordsweeper by POWGI.

A free demo for Nintendo Switch is available on the Nintendo eShop from today, ahead of the full release on August 8th. The game will also be released on the PlayStation Store for PS4 and PS Vita on Tuesday, August 6th.

Wordsweeper is a crossword puzzle solved using logic and deduction. As the name suggests, it is inspired by the classic puzzle “minesweeper” but this new word puzzle is unique to POWGI.

Instead of defining words, the clues indicate a set of letters that must be placed in adjacent squares and the player must work out which letter goes where. Logic and reasoning combined with a knowledge of English vocabulary will allow them to deduce the solution.

Designed as a casual puzzler, intended to get your brain ticking in moments between more intense gaming sessions, Wordsweeper by POWGI follows Lightwood’s usual no-fluff approach to puzzle games. It’s optimised to launch quickly to get you straight to the content and will give you pointers if you get stuck.

Cross-buy is included for PlayStation, so players can download the game on PS4 and Vita with one purchase. Players who complete the game will be rewarded with a platinum trophy.

Staffordshire, UK – Lightwood Games is excited to announce that “Word Puzzles by POWGI” is coming to Nintendo Switch, with a free playable demo now available on the Nintendo eShop and a special Deluxe Edition bundle available for pre-order.

The game is a compendium of six different pen-and-paper style word puzzles:
• Word Maze – Like a wiggly word search! Find the words and solve the maze!
• Mixups – A fiendishly difficult anagram puzzle with three words all jumbled together!
• One Word – The word search puzzle where there’s only one word to find!
• Flowers – Plant pairs of letters around the flower to grow six words with a common middle!
• Circles – Three overlapping circles hide three connected words. Find the missing letter to unscramble them all!
• Crossovers – Crossword puzzles with only one letter missing, which come together to solve a clue!

The game features Lightwood’s usual streamlined, no-nonsense approach. With hundreds of expertly hand-crafted word puzzles and a firm focus on the content, it’s a no-fluff puzzle variety pack that’s always ready to play when you are.

A playable demo with a handful of samples for each type of puzzles is now available. The full version of the game will be available to download on October 25th, priced £8.99 / $9.99.

Six packs of DLC will also be available at launch, each containing brand new content for one of the included puzzles.

Word puzzle fanatics can snap up a deal with the Deluxe Edition bundle, which contains the main game and the six additional packs, for £17.99 / $19.99.

Word Puzzles by POWGI, an upcoming multi-puzzle game for the Nintendo 3DS eShop, will include support for all amiibo figures and amiibo cards.

Indie studio Lightwood Games will include a special amiibo mode in Word Puzzles by POWGI that, when players scan any amiibo figure or card, will read the nickname and owner’s name. That information will then be used to unlock “special, custom content” for puzzles in the game.
