Hit Indie Horror Title ‘Outer Terror’ Arrives April 12th on Nintendo Switch!
BROOKLYN, NEW YORK – March 26th, 2023 – VoxPop Games Inc. today announced the indie horror hit Outer Terror is coming to consoles April 12th,2024. Released on PC last year to critical acclaim, Outer Terror was most recently nominated by the New York Video Games Critics Circle as the year’s “Best Hidden Gem” and will be VoxPop’s first game to arrive on consoles. Outer Terror will be available on Xbox X/S, PlayStation 4, PlayStation 5, and the Nintendo Switch.
“Outer Terror is a testament to VoxPop’s commitment towards elevating indie developers to greatness and we are so proud to bring this tremendous indie hidden gem crafted by Salt & Pixel to the wider purview of home entertainment consoles and an entirely new global audience.” said Marc Anthony Rodriguez, co-founder & COO of VoxPop Games, who served as Executive Producer for Outer Terror. “Expanding on our new publishing partnership with Ratalaika Games, this will be the first VoxPop Games property on consoles and we couldn’t be more excited. As we level up our new middleware platform, our university initiative, our publishing capabilities, we welcome all partnerships with new and up & coming studios and independent game makers who know they have something special and want VoxPop to enhance their voices.”
In Outer Terror you’ll choose from 10 unique survivors each with their own persona tied weapons and special skill attacks to rage through relentless waves of otherworldly terrors. Whether playing solo or co-op, each playthrough of Outer Terror will give players a different experience with randomized weapons and upgrade choices, enemy patterns, and areas of the map. You thought that safe zone would be in the same spot as last time? Think again, you’ll have to slaughter your way through enemies to find it with each playthrough.
The game is packed to the gills in Lovecraftian evil. It’s brutal, campy and surreal. It’s a well-crafted homage to the golden age of horror comics and the B-movies of the 80’s and 90’s. It’s Outer Terror from VoxPop Games and console publisher, Ratalaika Games S.L. are getting ready to knock your socks off.
Each volume in Outer Terror brings a new storyline and gameplay scenario, with each run, along with increasing difficulty reminding players, DON’T DIE, in what feels as if they’ve jumped right onto the pages of a living comic book.
Outer Terror will be available April 12 on Xbox X/S, PS4/5, and Nintendo Switch for €9.99 EUR / $9.99 USD.
Outer Terror marks the first console game launch for VoxPop Games’ new peer-to-peer games distribution and development platform, where multiple stakeholders, including the developer, artists, and voice actors, will be paid directly from the VoxPop platform. The middleware toolset VoxPop offers, allows game developers to use equity in their games as an advanced resource for both team profit-sharing and launch marketing.
Features
- Pixelated bullet hell styled chaos: combine weapons and automatically fire as you wade through unrelenting waves of enemies (best keep moving though or you might go splat).
- An S+ class/B movie styled cast: choose from 10 survivors reminiscent of classic horror protagonists. Find out how they survived, level up their attributes and teach them new skills to make enemies go splat.
- Multiple game modes: choose from solo story mode, completing side quests and going at it alone, or play with a buddy in co-op.
- A constant gorefest: roguelite elements make each playthrough its own bloody adventure with randomized weapon buff pick-ups, upgrade options, maps, and even enemy paths.
- A classic throwback: play through 5 volumes of stories inspired by classic horror comics and films with boss battles tearing straight out of a Lovecraftian yarn.

19 MARCH, 2024 – Indie developer Hoochoo Game Studios and publisher Digerati are delighted to announce that quirky second-hand shop simulator No Umbrellas Allowed will be available to download on Nintendo Switch from 5th April, priced $19.99 USD. PlayStation and Xbox versions will follow at a later date (still TBC).
Already available on PC, No Umbrellas Allowed is set in a futuristic sci-fi dystopia where greed is a crime and the emotions of the populace are suppressed by a drug called ‘Fixer’, which is administered via rainfall. Through a series of strange events, the player finds themselves in the position of manager at a well known second-hand shop called Darcy’s.
By learning the tools and tricks of the trade – and with some help from a loud-mouthed robot assistant – players must earn money, raise the shop’s reputation, and pay off their debts, all while trying to avoid any unwanted attention from AVAC (Association for Victims of Avarice Crimes).
About the game
Welcome to your new job as store manager at Darcy’s – Ajik City’s most reputable second-hand shop. With a little help from your robot assistant, HUE, you will appraise, value, buy and sell a vast array of intriguing items.
But remember: there are no umbrellas allowed. AVAC will be watching…
Key Features
- EVALUATE: Customers will bring you a wide variety of items they want to sell, from the mundane to the marvelous. Use tools to discover an item’s true value: worthless junk or precious rarity?
- HAGGLE: Once you’ve decided an item’s value, you can negotiate a price for it. Try to strike a balance between keeping the customer happy and ensuring a deal is as profitable as possible for Darcy’s.
- PROFIT: Procured items can be displayed for sale in the shop’s showcase. The rule of Darcy’s is buy low, sell high. But don’t get too greedy. Ajik City is not the place for flagrant avarice.
- REPUTATION: Consistently offering good item appraisals, good recommendations, and good deals all positively raises the profile of Darcy’s and brings more customers into the shop. Be good at your job.
- UMBRELLAS: Strictly prohibited in Ajik City due to their ability to protect against Fixerain. Any umbrellas submitted to Darcy’s must be handed over to AVAC. Failure to comply will be punished.

Rainbow Cotton Lands May 9th on Nintendo Switch!
Berlin, 19th March 2024 – Calling all Cotton-fanatics and gaming terminology sticklers! Read on to discover the differences between an emulation, remaster, and remake through the years of the OG ‘cute ‘em up’ bullet hell, the Cotton series.
Remake
The reimagining of epic proportions through the power of remakes. Rainbow Cotton is the epitome of this process, breathing new life into the original 2000 Dreamcast release of Rainbow Cotton with stunning visuals, innovative gameplay mechanics, an added local 2-player mode, and even more magic. It’s a journey into the retro past, but reinvented for the present.
This new release of Rainbow Cotton comes packed with many new witchy twists and upgrades. Delivering an even more immersive and visually stunning experience, taking you on an arcade-inspired journey through a whimsical world!
Read on to see some of the new features that the 2024 release of Rainbow Cotton includes.
- Bring on the Nostalgia: The Retro Mode allows you to experience the charm of the original Dreamcast version– as authentic as it can possibly be!
- Enhanced Gaming Experience: Revamped snap-back, lock-on targeting, controller rumble & speaker support, and more for a more luxurious gaming experience.
- Cotton’s New Look: Immerse yourself in the magic of the upgraded, stunning visuals!
- Dedicated Little Sibling Mode: Play as Cotton and Silk together with your Player 2 in this newly added local co-op mode!
- Team Sub or Team Dub?!: The fully animated cutscenes return in their original Japanese dubbing with translated English, French, Spanish, Italian, and German subtitles for your viewing pleasure!
Get on this magical ride and have a look at our fresh, new and offbeat video for Rainbow Cotton!
Remaster
As opposed to the remake, a remaster describes a – mostly visual – overhaul of a game. In other words: same gameplay, new look. Cotton Reboot is the HD deluxe remaster of the cult classic, Cotton: Fantastic Night Dreams. This HD remaster received a modern makeover with enhanced visuals, refined sound, and seamless gameplay. It’s a celebration of nostalgia with a contemporary twist.
Emulation/Port
Finally, let’s take a look at the 2021 release of Panorama Cotton. In this emulation, we faithfully recreated the original 1994 Sega Mega Drive experience for audiences to enjoy today. We essentially trick your console into believing itself to be an arcade machine to run the original SMD version—no gameplay changes, and no enhancements. Emulating a game is a testament to preserving gaming heritage while embracing the advancements of today’s technology.

Eco-horror Puzzle Platformer One Last Breath Begins March 28th On Nintendo Switch!
Pamplona, Spain – March 14th, 2023 – Maniac Panda Games and Catness Games are proud to announce that their upcoming 2.5D platformer/puzzler, about earth goddess Gaia’s quest to restore life to a post-apocalyptic earth, will be launching on PC, Nintendo Switch, PlayStation and Xbox platforms on March 28th for 17.99€ / $17.99. A digital pre-order price of 14.99€/ $14.99 will also apply between March 21st and 27th, for Xbox and Nintendo Switch. Utilizing the power of Unreal Engine 5, One Last Breath offers a rapturous world that’s equal parts wondrous and terrifying.
One Last Breath is a 2.5D platformer/puzzler wherein you play as Gaia, an earth goddess born from mother nature’s very last breath. Thrust into existence in a post-apocalyptic earth where mankind has all but vanished, it’s up to Gaia to restore life back to the planet. But be forewarned, as decades of pollution and greed have twisted the land into a hostile ruin full of deadly aberrations.
Gaia’s powers allow her to control the environment – such as creating paths using tree trunks or summoning vines to hang between gaps – which are used in a variety of puzzles. Throughout her journey she’ll visit abandoned factories filled with hazardous, man-made obstacles that are mysteriously still operational. This polluted landscape is crawling with mutants who will mercilessly hunt Gaia down, so you must be careful if you’re to restore the planet and uncover the truth about what happened to humanity.
“One Last Breath is a unique game exploring very real, urgent issues of climate change,” said Daniel Valdes, CEO at Maniac Panda Games. “That said, we didn’t set out to make a nihilistic, cynical game, but rather a message of hope and wonder, reminding players of the beauty of nature and how we’re at a crucial point in human history where we can still make a difference.”
