Munich, 25th February 2026 ​ – The legendary puzzle-action classic Boulder Dash is celebrating 40 years and it’s bigger than ever! Munich-based publisher BBG Entertainment has released a brand-new updated anniversary version, continuing the legacy of the original game created by Peter Liepa and Chris Gray.

The updated version, now released for Steam, Nintendo Switch, PlayStation, Xbox, Windows and Mac, brings comprehensive new content and improvements:

• Three new Modern Worlds, including the legendary fan-generated Firefox Levels
• A new Classic World with levels from the Boulder Dash Construction Set
• Original look from the ZX Spectrum and Apple II now selectable
• A total of 320 playable caves that will delight both nostalgic players and new fans

There are also further platform optimizations and technical improvements:

• Full Steam Deck support (officially verified by Steam, including on-screen keyboard)
• Fixed performance issues on Nintendo Switch
• Numerous UI, import, score, and workshop improvements
• Enhanced sounds (including new effects for the Magic Wall in Classic Worlds)
• Additional languages (Japanese and Russian)
