Nordic Action-Adventure RPG Fimbul Releases Feb 28th on Nintendo Switch!

MUNICH, COPENHAGEN – January 17 2019 – Fimbul, the Norse comic action-adventure from EuroVideo’s publishing label Wild River and Danish developer Zaxis Games, initiates an icy apocalypse on Feb. 28. The epic tale will be available both digitally and physically for Nintendo Switch, PlayStation 4, and PC, as well as digitally for Xbox One.

Fimbulwinter, the prelude to the end of the world known as Ragnarök, has begun. Elder berserker Kveldulver found death when bandits raided his village, killing him in the process. But the Norns, goddesses of fate and destiny, have other plans for Kveldulver. The goddesses resurrect Kveldulver before sending him on a bloody quest to eradicate the Jotun giants and avert the apocalypse.

Told in a gripping comicbook style, Kveldulver’s story will depend on player decisions, with numerous narrative branches to uncover. As the Norns are the goddesses who spin the threads of fate, they have imbued Kveldulver with the power to go back to pivotal moments in his journey and explore different outcomes.

Throughout his legendary adventure, Kveldulver will meet a large cast of characters, some friend, some foe. Of these enemies, select few must be defeated in battle before Kveldulver can decide their fate.

Kveldulver will also find both stories detailing the world around him and ways to improve his fighting skill. Certain items, weapons and talents enhance the old warrior’s abilities. He’ll need them all to overcome deadly warriors, horrific monsters, and gigantic Jotun alike. Combat is simple to learn, but as players explore the ways of the battlefield, they’ll discover nuances that will prove essential during awe-inspiring boss battles.

Obey Me Brings the War Between Angels and Demons to Switch in 2019!

SYDNEY – Jan. 16, 2019 – Obey Me, the cooperative holypunk brawler from Blowfish Studios and Error 404 Game Studios, fights through hordes of demons onto Nintendo Switch, PlayStation 4, Xbox One, and Windows PC in Q3 2019.

Unbeknownst to humans, angels and demons wage an invisible war, and mankind’s very souls hang in the balance. A former human-turned-lesser-demon named Vanessa Held works for one of these demons: Ammon, the Archduke of Avarice. She’ll fight alongside her Hellhound companion, Monty, against violent denizens from above and below on an unholy quest where she’ll unravel a conspiracy surrounding her.

To survive on these bloody streets, the hellish pair coordinate Vanessa’s savage skills, weaponry and evasive teleportation with Monty’s feral attacks, and magical skills super-powered by his elemental transformations. By absorbing the souls of her fallen foes, Vanessa can upgrade her weapons to learn more vicious combos, as well as upgrading Monty’s transformations.

They can also combine their powers through a Fusion Mode, which merges the pair together to become an avatar of destruction, with the ability to unleash the deadly Soul Overload attack when the Fusion bar is full.

The partnership between Vanessa and Monty forms the dark heart of Obey Me. Solo players control Vanessa and some of Monty’s key actions while an AI takes care of the rest. Alternatively, a partner can control Monty completely for co-op action.

Obey Me’s story of war and conspiracy among Angels and Demons in a decaying world is told not just through the game, but in a series of graphic novels published by Dynamite Comics, featuring art from Marvel veteran Ben Herrera whose resume includes X-Men and Spider-Man covers. Issue #0 releases in March, with five issues to follow. Obey Me comics will be available through both comic shops and digital comic retailers.

“Obey Me’s universe, woven through both a game and comics, intrigued us from the moment we first tried the game out,” said Ben Lee, CEO, Blowfish Studios. “The added depth from the back story provides much higher stakes while fighting against the forces of heaven and hell.”

Obey Me releases for Nintendo Switch, PlayStation 4, Xbox One, and Windows PC in Q3 2019.

Arabian Nights Adventure, City of Brass, Slashes its Way to Nintendo Switch!

CANBERRA, ACT – Jan. 15, 2019 – City of Brass, the Arabian Nights-inspired first-person rogue-lite adventure from the BioShock veterans at Uppercut Games, will swing onto Nintendo Switch Feb. 8, 2019.

Enter the legendary City of Brass and plunder the fabled treasures within its accursed walls. Armed with a bullwhip and blades, embark on a grand heist, lashing and slashing through the legions of lost souls who guard over the vast riches that adorn this treacherous town.

City of Brass revolves around the rhythmic interplay between melee combat and movement, as the protagonist’s whip can be used both in and out of battle in a variety of ways. It can disarm foes, trip and stun them, and open defensive opportunities that can be exploited by other weapons. The whip can also be used to grab faraway objects and swing to safety, or manipulate booby traps littered throughout the mythical metropolis, turning the environment on its unwitting denizens.

With procedurally-generated environments that see the labyrinthine streets shift on every run, City of Brass urges players to put their newfound knowledge from every playthrough to the test. But the challenge can also be tailored to every individual with the Blessings & Burdens system, which provides a wealth of modifiers to adjust the difficulty and game feel with optional modifiers to various game systems, including player health, damage output, item cost, and more.

The Nintendo Switch version will also launch with three unlockable characters alongside the starting Fool and Traveler duo. This group includes the fast but frail knife-fighting Brigand, the spear-throwing Soldier, and the strong but slow Hellion genie, each bringing something different to the table and keeping the experience fresh while players strive to attain the ultimate goal.

This new release also features a myriad of enhancements made to the game since its initial launch, including new relics, weapons, enemies, and various quality of life improvements.

“City of Brass brings the stories from Arabian Nights to life in a fast-paced hack-and-slash adventure that draws on our team’s experience working on titles like the BioShock series,” said Ed Orman, co-founder and designer, Uppercut Games. “We’ve continued to support the game since it launched earlier this year and look forward to introducing it to a new audience with all those improvements baked in when City of Brass comes to Nintendo Switch this February.”

City of Brass is currently available for PlayStation 4, Xbox One, and Windows PC via Steam. The game was financed with the assistance of Screen Australia’s Games Enterprise Program and supports English, French, Italian, German, Spanish, Portuguese (European and Brazilian), Polish, Russian, Turkish, Japanese, and Chinese (Simplified and Traditional) language options.

Degrees of Separation Reveals Gameplay Walkthrough Trailer!

January 15, 2019 — Walnut Creek, CA — Kicking off the new year, publisher Modus Games and developer Moondrop are excited to share an in-depth look at the rich narrative and dynamic gameplay in upcoming 2D puzzle platformer Degrees of Separation. Featuring the work of acclaimed fantasy author Chris Avellone, Degrees of Separation represents a unique and exciting new challenge for the Fallout: New Vegas writer, tackling the world of platformers and a touching fantasy story about relationships and polarity. Degrees of Separation taps Chris Avellone’s ability to craft rich, tapestry-like lore, telling the tale of a girl and boy from two different worlds whose lives intertwine. Each level of Degrees of Separation represents a different stage in the couple’s relationship, and thus offers a new mechanic that the two protagonists will have to master in order to progress. Offering players the option to go solo or co-op with a partner – either local or online – Ember and Rime each make use of their elemental abilities to solve puzzles as they traverse multiple unique worlds.

Degrees of Separation arrives on Nintendo Switch, PlayStation®4, Xbox One and Steam on February 14, 2019 for $19.99 USD.
