The Ikari Warriors Trilogy Returns on SNK 40th Anniversary Collection!

The brilliant anthology of SNK classics in SNK 40th ANNIVERSARY COLLECTION arrives on Nintendo Switch November 13! Today, we’re excited to introduce the classic trilogy of Ikari Warriors!

What is the Ikari Warriors Trilogy?
Shoot-em-ups were all the rage in ’80s, and in 1986, SNK launched Ikari Warriors, a game that took guerrilla carnage to a new level of lunacy! In this game, the player assumed the roles of two muscly men named Ralf Jones and Clark Steel (King of Fighters, anyone?), who were blasting and mowing down enemy forces in a South American jungle to save their commanding officer.

After the success of Ikari Warriors, there were two more entries in the series that took Ralf and Clark on further adventures, Victory Road (1988) and Ikari III: The Rescue (1990). Each of these titles brought a unique focus to the gameplay. Victory Road focused on the use of guns and explosives, while Ikari III: The Rescue brought more attention to hand-to-hand combat.

It will be available at a 30% discount Aug. 30 – Sept. 12 on both Nintendo Switch and PlayStation 4.

Annihilate enemies and dominate levels using upgradable skills. Azure Reflections takes the familiar perspective of traditional Touhou Project shooters and turns it on its side for intense horizontal shoot-em-up action.

Azure Reflections has multiple endings, but the sole path to the best ending is excellence. Only by mastering each girl’s skill set and defeating the bosses within the time limits leads to a conclusion to their tale.

Functionality meets fashion with accessories that add auto-fire, increase drop rates, reduce stun time and much more. Collect tokens to purchase cat ears, glasses, wings and other fun customizations for the girls’ looks and outfit them for battle. Mow down swathes of enemies in style to take over the online leaderboards.

Enter the troubled, cute and colorful world of Gensokyo. Originally created by one-man studio Team Shanghai Alice, the setting, sealed off from our world by a magical barrier, is the thread from which all Touhou Project games are woven. This Touhou Project fan game brings the humans and supernatural denizens of Gensokyo together to investigate the evil flowing from Scarlet Devil Manor. Can they protect their home from delightfully cruel bosses in this whimsical journey?

“The Touhou Project has 20 years of history to build on, and Souvenir Circ. has taken advantage of that to create a new adventure in the rich setting of Gensokyo,” said John Davis, G&R Representative, Unties Games. “The Souvenir Circ. team has drawn on their years of experience to put together a fresh take on the setting and genre with great customization to help players adapt the characters to their playstyle in pursuit of the highest scores.”

Azure Reflections will be available on Nintendo Switch for the regular price of $24.99 USD. It is currently available on PlayStation 4 at the same price.

Epic Games Veterans Drum Up Rhythmic Dungeon Crawler, Soundfall, For Switch in 2019!

RALEIGH, N.C. – Aug. 7, 2018 – Drastic Games’ debut title, Soundfall, a music-driven action adventure developed by alumni from Epic Games (Fortnite, Gears of War), will serenade Nintendo Switch, PlayStation 4, Xbox One, and PC in 2019.

A lively mix of twin-stick shooting and rhythm-based gameplay, Soundfall follows the journey of Melody, a young audiophile who finds herself transported to the world of Symphonia. In search of a way home from this mysterious land where music comes to life, she becomes entangled in a conflict to save the realm from Discord, an unfathomable darkness that threatens everything.

From Symphonia’s lush environments to its outlandish creatures, music drives every aspect of this rhythmic dungeon crawler. Become immersed in a world shaped by sound while delving into forbidden dungeons, exploring fantastic landscapes, and uncovering the hidden power of song.

Soundfall’s levels, enemies, loot, and more are procedurally-generated by and dynamically react to a range of musical elements, changing not only from song to song but measure to measure as tunes build and die away. Battles synchronize to the beat, rewarding players who dash and slash in time to the beat with impressive dance-like combos.

While harmonizing with Soundfall’s refrains, players search for gear and upgrades, like one-of-a-kind weapons and legendary artifacts with audio-driven powers. A diverse roster of playable characters, each with their own distinct playstyle and musical palettes, makes for compelling team-play in online and couch co-op for up to four friends. No matter how players choose to play, there are a wealth of ways to enjoy this action-packed musical experience.

Harnessing the power of Epic’s Unreal Engine 4, Soundfall pushes what’s possible for small team development. “Soundfall is an extraordinary project to be part of,” said Julian Trutmann, content director, Drastic Games. “Music connects people in ways that are difficult to articulate. It’s been an incredible pleasure working with such an emotionally engaging medium.”

“Syncing literally everything in the game to music has been an awesome technical challenge,” added Nick Cooper, technical director, Drastic Games. “But it’s been a tremendously rewarding process, and we’re excited to finally share Soundfall with players.”

Soundfall will be playable at PAX West, EGX, and PAX Australia later this year.
