Fill-a-Pix: Phil’s Epic Adventure Brings a World of Picture Puzzles to Nintendo Switch!

Staffordshire, UK – Lightwood Games is proud to announce that Fill-a-Pix: Phil’s Epic Adventure is now available on the Nintendo eShop for Nintendo Switch.

Fill-a-Pix: Phil’s Epic Adventure is the newest picture logic puzzle from the makers of Pic-a-Pix Deluxe, the popular full-colour picross game which was released earlier this year.

Developed by Lightwood Games and featuring puzzles by Conceptis, it introduces a brand new style – and scale – of picture puzzle to Nintendo Switch users.

The game’s narrator, Phil, invites players to assist him in developing photographs taken on his travel adventures. His not-so-instant camera has captured pictures in the form of logic puzzles!

The solutions are stunning pixel-art photos from around the world, ranging from small introductory pictures to massive landscapes with more than 6,000 pixels to fill in!

Often described as a mix of minesweeper and picross, Fill-a-Pix has only one rule. Each clue number shows how many squares in a block of nine – the clue itself, plus the eight squares around
it – should be filled in black.

A full interactive tutorial is also included to make sure players understand all the techniques needed to get stuck in. The unique Smart Cursor feature makes playing fluid and satisfying.

Options to guide you towards the next move and to check your progress so far mean you’ll never get stuck.

The Nintendo Switch version of the game contains 120 puzzles, including new puzzles which were not previously included in the Nintendo 3DS version. A further pack of 40 brand new puzzles, featuring photos from Phil’s USA Road Trip, is available as DLC.

A playable demo of the game is also available on the Nintendo eShop.

Fill-a-Pix: Phil’s Epic Adventure supports English, French, German and Spanish.

The Gardens Between Blooms Later This Year On Nintendo Switch!

MELBOURNE, Australia – July 11, 2018 – The Gardens Between, the adventure puzzle game from The Voxel Agents in which players manipulate time to guide two best friends through a surreal world of mysterious garden islands, will come to the Nintendo Switch system in Q3 2018 simultaneously alongside the previously announced PlayStation 4, Windows and Mac releases.

Reminisce with The Gardens Between for the first time on Nintendo Switch at Gamescom in hall 3.2, booth A70. Following its Gamescom debut, The Gardens Between will be playable at PAX West.

Arina, a headstrong girl, and Frendt, a boy wise beyond his years, fall into a series of vibrant, dreamlike island gardens peppered with everyday objects that hold a special significance to the duo. Together they embark on an emotional journey that examines the significance of their friendship: the memories they’ve built, what must be let go, and what should never be left behind.

Designed as an homage to the enduring power of friendship, The Gardens Between places you in control of not the characters themselves, but the force which will change and shape their relationship: time. In the mysterious realm they find themselves transported to, cause and effect are malleable and time flows in all directions. Solve puzzles to reach the apex of each isle and light up constellations of memories, illuminating threads of a bittersweet narrative.

On Nintendo Switch players will be able to follow Arina and Frendt on the go, solving mind-bending puzzles on a break at work or enjoying the gorgeous environments with friends at a party. The console’s HD Rumble feature brings the game’s lush world to life, underscoring curious moments of time and imagination.

“The Gardens Between is an homage to the friendships from our childhoods that felt so impossibly large that the bonds could never be broken,” says Simon Joslin, co-founder of The Voxel Agents. “We took inspiration from our own childhoods when building the narrative of The Gardens Between. We wanted to tap into something relatable, familiar and nostalgic. The magic of being a kid is fleeting, but the story of Arina and Frendt captures that enchantment in a beautiful package.”

20XX Dives onto Nintendo Switch Today!

BOSTON, MA – July 10, 2018 – 20XX, the roguelike action platformer from Batterystaple Games and Fire Hose Games, is now available on Nintendo Switch and PlayStation 4, followed by Xbox One tomorrow.

Inspired by the beloved Mega Man series, 20XX builds upon Capcom’s classic formula by seamlessly integrating local and online co-op as well as contemporary roguelike elements into a retro design. This creates an addictive play experience focused on skill growth. Gone are the days of simple memorization and trial and error as 20XX’s procedurally-built stages demand a high level of situational awareness and skill with a controller.

After selling more than 100,000 units on Steam where it was named one of Valve’s Top Early Access Graduates of 2017, 20XX comes to consoles with its Hawk DLC Pack included. This third playable character fights with her own distinct whip attack. Rounding out the roster and making his debut shortly after the console launch via a free update is the heavily armed Draco, who uses a single power while equipping up to eight weapons.

Every session plays out differently than the last. Daily ranked challenges, multiple difficulty settings, and a nostalgia-laden, chiptune-inspired soundtrack bring the best of new and retro games. Leap, dive, and blast either solo or with friends through a near-limitless amount of always-exhilarating content.

“20XX is a celebration of classic action-platforming remixed with modern roguelike design,” said Chris King, founder, Batterystaple Games. “After a wonderful reception on PC, we’re so excited that console players can finally get their hands on the game.”

20XX supports English, French, German, Spanish, Italian, Brazilian Portuguese, Russian, Japanese, Korean, and Simplified Chinese language options.

20XX is available for download for $17.99 USD in the Nintendo eShop, Official PlayStation Store, and will be the same price on the Microsoft Store tomorrow.

Slam Land Dunks August 7th on Nintendo Switch!

ROCHESTER, NY – July 10, 2018 – Slam Land, the surreal competitive party game from Bread Machine Games where brawling and balling meet in a weird and wacky pastime, dunks its way onto Nintendo Switch, PlayStation 4, Windows PC, and Mac on August 7, 2018.

Easy to pick up but with depth to match, Slam Land is a fast-paced, chaotic experience where a bizarre blue giant enlists a cast of comical competitors to dunk one another into hoops for his amusement. So, (literally) grab up to four friends and face off in local multiplayer matches where opponents must grapple, lunging at and dodging away from each other as they vie to seize and shoot their adversaries into a variety of bizarre goals ranging from tree hollows to gaping maws.

Alongside these “Slam” matches, where players race against the clock to score the most points or outlast each other in stock contests, Slam Land sports a variety of additional game types to ensure things always stay fresh. These include the hot potato-like “Peanut Mode,” where scores become more valuable the longer players hold on to the titular peanut. Slam Land also features a distinctive take on the classic basketball activity “H.O.R.S.E.,” where lettered NPCs spawn and players shoot them to fill out the word. And then there’s the wildest mode of all, “Trash,” which sees garbage rain from the sky that can be stacked into massive piles and dunked.

Propelled by a percussive, energetic soundtrack and a playful hand-drawn cartoon art style, Slam Land is a joyful and energetic experience that will have friends laughing and screaming no matter which whimsical game type they find themselves clashing in.

“Slam Land is an intense party game where friends can get together and drunk each other in our weird mashup of basketball and fighting game,” says Keith McCullough, creative director, Bread Machine Games. “We look forward to introducing the world to this cheeky, surreal world and awesome group of game modes when we’re ready to release this July.”

Slam Land will retail for $7.99 / €7.99 via the Nintendo eShop, PlayStation Store, and Steam.
