Team17 and Pathea Games partnering to bring My Time at Portia to consoles in 2018!

2nd October 2017, UK – Award-winning international games label Team17 and China based indie developer Pathea Games today announced their partnership to bring My Time at Portia, Pathea’s forthcoming engrossing 3D sandbox RPG inspired by Animal Crossing, Harvest Moon, Dark Cloud 2 and the works of Miyazaki, to PC and consoles.

Setting sail for Portia, a town on the edge of civilization, you’ll arrive to find a workshop left to you by your Pa – a place where you can begin to craft a new life, using the relics from the past to improve life for the villagers in the town.

Gather materials from Portia’s stunning open world: cut down trees, forage for herbs, mine in the ruins and even grow your own garden. There are many unique areas for you to explore including deserts, island, reefs, highlands, marshlands, mines and more! There are even two different types of dungeons including abandoned dungeons filled with important resources such as relics and ores for you to harvest or more hazardous dungeons where you’ll be able to encounter and battle monsters!

The world of Portia will feel alive as the villagers have their own unique behaviours and will go to school, do their jobs, work out, have fun and have their own stories to share with you. You’ll be able to befriend and romance the villagers within Portia.

Debbie Bestwick, MBE, CEO of Team17 said “We welcome Pathea to the Team17 label and it’s exciting to work with a talented studio in a region with an emerging indie development scene. We’re thrilled to be supporting them in their development roadmap and the bringing the game to multiple platforms in 2018.”

Zifei Wu, President at Pathea Games added “My Time at Portia is a huge passion project for the team here at Pathea games and we’re excited to be working closely with Team17. We’re hugely grateful to the support and enthusiasm of the backers of our campaign so far and the Alpha build we shared was just a very small taste of the world we’re going to create in partnership with Team17 in bringing My Time at Portia to PC and consoles.”

My Time at Portia is planned to head to PC via Steam Early Access in early 2018 and will be coming to consoles later in 2018.

The Kickstarter campaign is heading into its final stages and the team at Pathea has created a small preview of the forthcoming game in the form of an alpha demo which includes 6-8 hours of gameplay,  free to download from Steam, Itch.io, IndieDB and GameJolt.

To celebrate the new partnership, Team17 will be livestreaming My Time at Portia this Thursday at 18:00 BST – watch it at https://www.twitch.tv/team17ltd.

Switch Edition of Overcooked receives stability patch!

When we brought Overcooked: Special Edition to Nintendo Switch this July, we were delighted to see how much the Nintendo community embraced our brand of chaotic co-op cookery. We’re thrilled to have seen Nintendo Switch owners all over the world playing on their TV screens, in handheld mode and even using tabletop mode to play together on the go.

But we understand that some players have also experienced a handful of performance issues that we did not detect during development. We’ve been actively working on addressing these issues ever since and we’re now very happy to announce that the first of two planned patches is live!

Patch 1 is now available to download on your Nintendo Switch console and contains the following fixes…

  • General improvements to framerate across the entire game
    Improvements to controller input
  • HD Rumble no longer activates for all players when Player 1 carries out an action
  • A crash triggered after lowering the vibration setting is fixed
  • An exploit for chopping in the single-player mode has been removed
  • An error in which worktop highlights was missing under certain circumstances is fixed
  • A bug causing the timer to cut off when switching between handheld and TV mode has been fixed

Now that Patch 1 is complete and live, we are busy finalising Patch 2, which will introduce even more improvements to performance. Please keep an eye out for it in the near future!

We’re confident that these fixes result in a much-improved playing experience on Nintendo Switch and hope you agree too. If you have any comments at all regarding Overcooked: Special Edition then please let us know at the official Overcooked Facebook page or Twitter account where we’ll be sure to see them.

Thanks for reading and happy over-cooking!

Genesis: Alpha One

Our planet has been left ravaged by war; pollution and over-exploitation of resources, humanity’s hope lies with the Genesis Program and the promise of a new home. As the Captain of a Genesis star ship, you journey into uncharted space on this ultimate mission and you must create a crew capable of fighting the alien infestations that threaten it. heroes to defeat your enemies in tense, turn-based tactical combat. Crush your enemies’ willpower and watch them flee the battlefield or even turn on their comrades. Use the environment to your
advantage, moving your heroes into cover and setting the enemy ablaze with explosive barrels before finishing them off with brutal, visceral overkill moves. Sword Legacy: Omen is heading to PC
in 2017.

New Transport Prisons in The Escapist 2 Will Make For a Moving Experience!

15th August 2017 – Award-winning international games label Team17 and developer Mouldy Toof have today released a new trailer for The Escapists 2, the follow up to their award-winning prison-escape game The Escapists.

The new trailer showcases 3 of the 10 prisons within the game, which share a unique twist, all 3 are different types of prisoner transport vehicles! Inmates will need to act quick and employ their stealth skills if they’re to escape the new timed prisons, which feature a variety of transit methods for the pixelated prisoners including:

Cougar Creek Railroad
Locked up on a hurling train chugging across the Cougar Creek Railroad, you and the vultures overhead know what fate awaits once this train reaches the end of the line. If you plan to see another sunrise you’d better disembark by whatever means necessary.

H.M.S Orca
Onboard the H.M.S Orca you’ll find a pity of prisoners who are being shipped off in droves to a remote island far, far away from civilization. Not keen on being marooned, you’d much prefer to find a way off the boat before you stand about as much chance as a fish out of water.

Air Force Con
Meanwhile in Air Force Con, you better fasten your seatbelt! Only the most hardened of criminals get an entire plane during the escort phase. One thing’s for sure though – it’s a one-way- ticket, so you’d better act fast before landing.

The Escapists 2 features:
● A dedicated tutorial for new players to learn the basics of prison life
● 10 unique themed prisons to escape from including 3 transit prisons
● Play each prison solo or multiplayer with both local and online co-op and versus modes for up to four players*
● Drop-in, drop-out online multiplayer experience.  Carefully plan and execute an intricate escape from your initial incarceration with your fellow inmates either online or locally, or simply hop into an existing game already in progress to help pull off the final touches of the escape!
● A brand-new combat system to make every prison brawl even more bruising
● Create your con with over 300 customisations to create your perfect prisoner
● New ways to escape
● New items to craft – Build yourself a homemade Taser to knock out guards plus many more!

The Escapists 2 will launch on the 22nd of August for Xbox One, PlayStation 4 and PC with a Nintendo Switch™ version to follow. Players can pre-order the game now via Steam, the Xbox Store and the PlayStation Store, with a physical version for PlayStation 4 and Xbox One available from select retailers.

[*] Xbox One, PlayStation 4, and PC players will be able to play online multiplayer and local split screen for up to four players while Nintendo Switch™ players will be able to play online up to four players and split screen for two players.
