RemiLore for Nintendo Switch, PlayStation 4 and Xbox One Releases Today!

SANTA ANA, California, February 26, 2019 — Nicalis, Inc. today announced that RemiLore: Lost Girl in the Lands of Lore has released on Nintendo Switch, PlayStation 4 and Xbox One, with a Steam version coming soon. An all-new hack-and-slash action game, RemiLore follows the journey of an ordinary schoolgirl named Remi and a supreme magic book named Lore as they battle their way through the anime-inspired world of Ragnoah.

In RemiLore, players can defeat enemies with a variety of powerful melee and magical ranged attacks, both of which can change dramatically whenever Remi equips any of over 200 different fun and fantastic weapons. Save Me Mr Tako! Inks October 30th Release Date on Nintendo Switch!

SANTA ANA, California, October 8, 2018 — On World Octopus Day, Nicalis, Ink. today announced the release date for Save me Mr Tako!, the all-new platforming adventure coming to Nintendo Switch™ and Steam. The charming throwback-style game stars a friendly octopus named Mr Tako and will celebrate October as “The Month of the Octopus” by releasing on October 30, 2018.

Save me Mr Tako! takes place in a world where humans and octopi are at war. Mr Tako is a persistently helpful little octopus who rescues a woman from drowning one stormy night. A fairy sees this act of bravery and grants him the ability to survive on land, where he strays from his family and his people in an attempt to resolve the conflicts between the octopus and human races.

Along his journey, Mr Tako can discover and wear 50 different hats to gain special abilities, which will help him solve puzzles, fight tenacious bosses and navigate the 16 mysterious dungeons that are scattered throughout six connected worlds. The game is a heartfelt homage to the portable-gaming past, with bitmapped graphics in player-selectable color palettes and chiptune instrumentation to complete the authentic retro vibe.

Nicalis Announces Dungreed For Nintendo Switch, Showcases Diverse Lineup At BICFest 2018!

Dungreed features procedurally generated levels with a variety of environments such as prisons, jungles and lava zones. The Binding Of Isaac: Four Souls Kickstarter Campaign Announced For Themed Card Game!

SANTA CRUZ, California, June 27, 2018 — Edmund McMillen today announced that the crowd-funded Kickstarter campaign for The Binding of Isaac: Four Souls has launched and is now open for backing. The all-new project from Edmund McMillen, the video game designer and creator of indie mega-hits Super Meat Boy and The Binding of Isaac, is a card game based on the themes and storylines presented in The Binding of Isaac series.

The Binding of Isaac: Four Souls will take elements of what fans experienced in the iconic video game series and drop it in physical form onto players’ card gaming location of choice. 2-4 players can randomly choose from four different playable characters, each with their own unique abilities that can affect the gameplay. Once started, players will have the opportunity to encounter an endless array of familiar monsters and items from the video game series as they decide whether to barter, play cooperatively or betray their opponents.

“Designing this was fun and easy and I’m treating this as I would any video game that I’ve ever worked on,” said designer Edmund McMillen. “The goal is to make a very playable and entertaining card game that has a lot of strategy to it and embodies everything that’s unique about The Binding of Isaac.”

In order to make this dream not a nightmare, a Kickstarter campaign has been created forThe Binding of Isaac: Four Souls with a 30-day target goal of $50,000. If met, backers who provided monetary pledges will receive their tier of goods, which range from digital items to the base game plus expansion packs, collector’s editions, bonus swag items and more! With love and support and crowdsourcing help from fans, The Binding of Isaac: Four Soulscard game will release in winter 2018.

A working prototype for The Binding of Isaac: Four Souls has already been created and includes 100 Monster Cards, 100 Loot Cards, 100 Treasure Cards, 100 Pennies, 4 Character Cards, 4 Power Cards and 2 dice. Each game begins with players selecting a Character Card and receiving 3 Loot Cards and 3 Pennies. Players then take turns playing Loot Cards to attack monsters in order to gain resources that can be used to purchase items. Once strong enough, players can battle boss monsters that will yield souls. The first player to end their turn with four souls is crowned the winner.

Ikaruga Takes To The Skies Today On Nintendo Switch!

SANTA ANA, California, May 29, 2018 — Nicalis, Inc. has announced the official release of Ikaruga, available digitally worldwide on Nintendo Switch starting today. This legendary and critically acclaimed vertical shooter from renowned Japanese game developer Treasure offers something special for both nostalgic fans and modern players.

The gameplay in Ikaruga is centered around the ship’s polarity-switching mechanic, which lets players toggle between two energy polarities (black or white) at any time with the touch of a button. Bullets that are the same color as the ship can be absorbed, while the opposite color will do damage. As the amount of absorbed bullets increases, so does the player’s homing laser attack which can deal huge damage to enemy ships.

Ikaruga on Nintendo Switch features both single-player and two-player (local) cooperative modes, as well as global leaderboards that can be accessed online for tracking high scores. Code Of Princess EX Hacks And Slashes Its Way Onto Nintendo Switch On July 31st!

SANTA ANA, California, May 17, 2018 — Nicalis, Inc. today confirmed that Code of Princess EX is making its final preparations for battle and will release digitally and physically across North America and Europe on July 31, 2018 on Nintendo SwitchTM.

Code of Princess EX looks and plays like a long-awaited spiritual successor to Guardian Heroes, the fan-favorite beat-’em-up RPG. It pays homage to all the best elements from its inspiration (the varied cast of characters, the pseudo-medieval setting, the combat that takes place on three distinct “planes”) and expands its appeal with HD graphics, powerful combos, lock-on and “burst” attacks and a variety of local and online multiplayer modes.

The main storyline in Code of Princess EX focuses on Princess Solange of DeLuxia, who is thrust into the role of guardian and protector of the legendary sword DeLuxcalibur after her family’s castle is overtaken by a siege of rampaging monsters. Venturing out beyond the castle walls, she soon discovers that the monster onslaught has blanketed the entire kingdom with terror and oppression.

As she fights to restore order, Solange selectively recruits a diverse team of powerful and agile combatants in an attempt to bring peace to the land.
